I'm thinking with Howard fizzling out in the last few weeks of the season and not reaching 60 HRs will cost him. It's too hard to ignore what Pujols did on a division winning team in about three weeks less than Howard.
Cardinals locked up Spiezio for the next two years (3rd year option). The deal is worth a guaranteed $4.5 million.
The Cards also signed Randy Keisler from the Oakland A's to a one-year deal. Don't know much about him, but he's a 30-year old reliever who's well-traveled.
All those years Pujols put up better numbers than Bonds, Bonds got the MVP because he was the most feared. Now all of a sudden they give it to the guy with the best numbers.
Wow, that sucks. Didn't Howard fade away toward the end of the season? If not for some key hits by Pujols late in the season, the Cards may not have even made the playoffs...much less won it all.
Cards signed Adam Kennedy and Kip Wells yesterday...
Finally an everyday second basemen in Kennedy... pretty cool he ended up back in St. Louis, he was a minor league prospect that the Cards traded to the Angels in the Edmonds deal back in 2000.
Yeah, and St. Louie got Kennedy decently cheap. He turned down some better deals just to come to St. Louis.
The Cardinals also signed Eli Marrero to a minor league deal. He may end up in the bigs because of his versatility. Good to have him back in St. Louis.
The only thing I have to say about Kip Wells is... I wish he was a lefty. And... and it's a mediocre signing.
True, even though I'm a believer that Weaver just needed a change in scenery. Although I know Duncan definitely worked on Dream's mechanics a little bit.
Kip Wells... I don't even know where he pitched last year. I know he was with Pittsburgh at one time... was he still there last year?
Why am I thinking of the pitcher with the wife that said she'd sleep with everyone on the team if he cheated on her? I can't remember that guy's name either. Baseball season over for a month and I've already forgot everything about it.
