He had his man beat, great block by Fleming. I mean, it might have been a dumb play, but if I was in the same situation, I would have done the same thing, except I would have tried to dunk. That way you probably get the foulI was watching Gamecast. What did Vandy do?
They were up 3 with less than 30 seconds. Why did Pippen attempt a layup?
Beating Purdue at home is a better win than us beating Arkansas at home. Good thing we have a bit of a lead on Wisconsin on the seed line. A win would pull them close to us and I think it will take more than beating Arkansas for us to pass Purdue.
With our strength of schedule theoretically if we win out and win the sec tournament then we have an outside shot at a 1 seed…I agree, but I don’t think the net effective is enough to bump us off a seed line. If we beat Arkansas, we are at worst a 3-seed even if Wisconsin is a higher 3-seed. I think Purdue losing at least increases our ceiling. The easiest way to think about it IMO is that we control our own destiny. Keep winning at it won’t matter what else happens as we’ll guarantee ourselves a 3-seed and an outside shot at a 2.
Well yeah but that’s not really the point of this discussion. The floor doesn’t matter if we win out. The odds of that happening aren’t that likely. It’s about weighing some of the outcomesI agree, but I don’t think the net effective is enough to bump us off a seed line. Not sure about that. There seem to be more teams crowding around the 3 line and from good conferences where bigger wins than Arkansas exist. Again that’s kind of the point of this thread to discussI don’t mean win out and win a SEC Tournament. I think just beating Arkansas is likely to give you a 3-seed as long as you beat a “lesser” opponent in the first round of the conference tournament. Not much difference in a 2 or 3 so just win Saturday and we’re fine, IMO.
