Is Iona an at-large team? They lost in their conference semis
I Wrote This last week just as a "what-if" scenario. Didn't expect it to actually happen. Iona played a top 40 non-conference schedule and has won a remarkable 15 games away from home.
I honestly don't know at this point what is going to happen with them, but they are pretty much the definition of bubble team. As a basketball fan, I would love to see them in. As a Vols fan, I hope we have the edge haha.
Lunardi is def a good person to follow to keep track of things but is by no means definitive. Not calling you out at all lol. Just throwing some perspective in there. That being said lets hope he keeps throwin the VOLS brand out there!
you are right, but at this point he doesnt even have mtsu or iona as first four or next four out, so i really dont think they are that close.
we should find out more in the next day or two though.
in any regards, we are the next team in at this point, so nobody below us really matters, its the teams ahead of us that matter.
Very true. I this is going to be a long week. At this point, if we just produce and win 2 then there is no way we are out. I believe our RPI would be low 50's and we came in 2nd. It's nice having the ball in our court. I feel even more confident with CCM leading the team.
No, he did not. The Bracket Project's Bracket Matrix - 2011he had both of them in his bracketology on selection sunday iirc

And, while it is fun to track Lunardi's brackets, he's not the prime bracketologist. Since 2006, he's the 27th ranked bracketologist (out of 44). The Bracket Project - Ranking the Bracketologists
This guy has been the most successful: Bracketville He has basically the same opinion on Tennessee that Lunardi has, though.
Those were the final brackets. Lunardi's bracket last year was pretty bad, although there weren't too many people expecting USC and UAB to get in (those were two strange selections).wheres the date on that?
i ask cause i could have sworn his last bracket had all the teams right, but i could be mistaken with someone else.

I don't think Iona is a surefire at-large team. But, they're in the discussion and I think they could very easily sneak in. MTSU, on the other hand, doesn't have a prayer, imo.
