Official what games to pay attention to thread...

he now has iona and mtsu as 2 teams that are a bit down, but still bubble teams.

the good thing though is we are the VERY NEXT team in. as soon as one of those other team falters we will slide right into the bracket.

we control our own destiny and are not relying on anyone else, thats how you want it.

I can't believe that MTSU lost to a horrible Ark St team. I've seen where that is going to knock them out of the tourney.

yea they are out now.

lunardi has them still as about 10th team out, so they could get back in with the other bubble teams losing, but we'll see.

Bracket done for the day. I have the Vols as the 3rd team out, with VCU and Iona (I know I'm in the minority here) currently ahead. Regardless, the opportunity to play their way into the tournament is there, and with 2 wins at this point making the tournament would be almost a certainty.

i can live with the vcu, but not the IONA.

oh well, to each their own.

Must win 2. Gotta find a way to dig inside the bubble on the other side to absorb the loss, if you do lose.
Even if we lose 1st round we will still make the NIT right? If that happens I'm still proud of this team and CCM & staff.

I just asked Jerry Palm who we should cheer for tonight on twitter and he said VCU he doesn't think Drexel gets an automatic bid. They are in the tournament field in the projections because they won the regular season. I know he's just one of the opinions but I believe we should be cheering for VCU tonight.

I only worry about UT - GBO win the SEC tournament and get the automatic berth - it sucks to rely on mid majors - I can however see Seton Hall and Northwesten falling early in their conf tourneys

Iona has a way better resume than VCU.

I don't care.

Who are their "good wins" over?

Any NCAA at large teams?

They just don't past the eye test to me. Preferably id like neither VCU or IONA to get in, but I was dating between the two I'd take VCU.

Clearly Lunardi agrees as well, along with most bracketologists

I don't think either gets an auto with the loss, which is why I said not a huge impact on Tennessee in this one in my OP.

I'm rooting for VCU though.

I feel Drexel has no chance at an at large with a loss, but I feel VCU still has a sliver.

I agree. I think we want VCU. Jay Bilas also thinks that Drexel is out unless they win tonight.

VCU is favored. Pomeroy likes Drexel, Sagarin likes VCU, and Accuscore likes Drexel.

I'm waiting for TeamRankings to update their page. But this looks like its going to be a close one!

Go Rams!

Fortunately, this game is being played in Richmond - not on VCU's home court, but it is essentially a home game for them.
