You act like he wouldn’t have gotten drafted and never had an opportunity to pitch in the majors. He would have had the same opportunity. You can’t teach what he has at his disposal. He would’ve been dominant in the minors and been called up to start as a September call up. Yeah his MLB time would’ve been delayed by a few months but he still would’ve made any MLB roster this year. And more than likely he would be pitching for a better organization with a better chance to win a championship. Most don’t have no clue what athletes at the Academies go through. A sophomore who’s told he has a chance to be a first round pick, and is encouraged to transfer by his coach to pursue a one in a million life long dream isn’t a loser in my book. David Robinson and Paul Skenes are unicorns.
He had a chance to focus on baseball, and his body/physical development, in a way that he likely would not have at AF. He also got to prove himself consistently in the SEC, against the best college had to offer. You act like he wouldn’t have gotten drafted and never had an opportunity to pitch in the majors. I don’t know if he is pick #1 from AF the way he was at LSU. That alone had a few million of value. His coach helped him make the right business decision.
Plus, Livvy Dunne.
