Ole Miss vs Tennessee

Ole Miss is a better team than we are and would probably beat us soundly, it is what it is, we are an incomplete team even at our best

I’m reserving my judgment of the committee for December 8th. Either way, my judgment nor anyone else’s on this board matters.
I'll judge them week by week.

And even though our individual opinion carries no weight, the collective opinion carries significant weight.

You better believe the committee members hear the reactions and consider the arguments made.

So the first or second half would we score? The other is good for a goose egg. Mean while Dart would school our D just like Beck did….cmon man get real
Yes we would score. And no Dart wouldn’t light us up. Get real. He didn’t light UK up and we are better than them defensively. Stop getting caught up in the moment.

Wait - two minutes after this you told another poster the transitive property doesn’t work. Our defense is better than Kentucky’s, but Kentucky held Georgia to 13 and we held Georgia to 31.

Which is it?

Oh yea our D was so dominant against Ga. Refresh my memory. How many hurries or QB sacks did The Vols vaunted D have against Ga. Then refresh my memory on how Ole Piss destroyed Beck. Moment No. Reality Yes

Best win: ole Miss -Ga; Tennessee -Ala. Tennessee winner cause Bama beat Ga AND committee themselves rate Alabama over Ga.

Losses: Ole Miss- @home vs Ky & @ LSU. Tennessee- @ Ark & @ Ga. Winner- Tennessee no home losses& Ark & Ga are better than Ky & LSU.

Something isn’t right with OM rated above Tennessee.

I will be pulling for Florida to beat Kiffin and Mississippi like a drum on Saturday.

We put ourselves in this crap position by losing to Arkansas and having a lack luster offense in SEC play. We may squeak in with some help from Florida, Army, Oklahoma or USC. But we have to get “fiddy” on UTEP and smoke Vandy to show the committee something Alabama nor Texas could do! Go Vols

Ultimately they are to put in the best teams RIGHT NOW. Not who the best teams were in Week 3, Week 5, or Week 10. This is exactly why FSU was left out last year. They were not one of the four best teams after conference championship games were played.

Ole Miss looks better than UT right now, in large part b/c they smashed Georgia ten days ago. Anyone asking themselves “who would I not want to play right now?” is going to answer Ole Miss based on their most recent data point. That’s a big factor to the committee.
I think we are saying similar things, I just sound more bitter about it than you do lol.

I think body of work should be weighted a little more, as well as circumstances. Ole Miss had two bad losses at home to two Arkansas-ish teams. We lost on the road (barely) at Arky at night, and at UGA at night.

It felt like Kirby was making the case for UT in his post-game interview in many ways. Listen to what he says when asked about what they showed the committee, he is (whether inadvertently or strategically) making the case for UT not to be dropped very far…

They had one bad game. Our defense has been elite all year. Refresh my memory, where was the Ole Miss UGA game played? Was it at Oxford or in Athens where UGA hasn’t lost in over 5 years?

Refresh my memory, what team has had a top 19 nationally ranked defense pretty much the entire year? What team has had eithe the best or near the best defense in the SEC pretty much the whole year? Tennessee. Reality? No. You are living in the moment like I said.

FSU was all time robbed.

If we can not defend Georgia's passing game, we would not be able to defend Ole Miss's passing game. If Pili was not hurt, we would probably beat them.
Definitely agreed especially regarding Pili, LB hasn't been S (A+) tier since

Left off that they also blew out the #18 team in the country (South Carolina).

As I remember, Fulmer always played Kentucky, Vandy, a homecoming bum or two, and Mississippi State in November.
What? The only times Tennessee played Mississippi State in November while Fulmer was here were in 2002 and 2003.

Oh yea and what a moment it would have been for the strength of our team to show up. Take a 10 to 0 lead on the road against the pups. All the pressure on Beck to respond. What a moment it would have been to dial up blitz after blitz. Instead Beck has a sandwich while receivers get open. They go up 14 to 10. Offense responds we take a 17 to 14 lead. What a moment it would have been for our elite D to affect Beck. Never happened.

They put who they want in them come up with ways to attempt to justify it

Texas, Penn State and Indiana are the biggest jokes high in the rankings.

Yeah, you're right...It's weird that this year they decided not to change the criteria so that other aspects besides "who had the least bad loss?" could be considered. Some people like me were hoping that other things like comparing strong wins could be considered.

And Texas w/Vanderbilt as a "good win"...that just happens to be their best win.
