Open Letter to Scotty Hopson

Also for those who thinks Scotty doesn't show any emotion, does nobody ever remember him screaming after big dunks? I can remember five dunks he has screamed and showed plenty of emotion. This whole "Maybe he just doesn't show emotion kinda player" is crap.

His facial sulking, which is rivaled only by a 6 year old girl who had her dog ran over, also proves the "no emotion" crap is senseless.

BP did bench him. Remember at Florida this year? That did a lot of good.

So BP thought a short stay on the bench in 1 game was sufficient punishment for a kid who "doesn't give any effort"? I would think if his effort lacked the way yall say it does, hed be benched for a month. There's a piece to your puzzle missing, bub.

You should put down the weed, it is seriously killing brain cells.

I've noted and posted on his inability to consistently put it all together. I have not, however, bashed him and called him names like "softy" and "quitter" or attacked his will to grow as a man/player. Some have (not saying you, necesarily) made a habit of the above. I like to think a guy with the proven success of BP, is smart enough to judge that factor and coach accordingly. Not to mention, the ppl making the coaching decisions are 100% closer to the ACTUAL situation than any of any poster on VN. (Myself and the aforementioned included). I'm not against calling it how you see it, feel free. But must you attack a kid?

Did your brain jump off the Highlander cliff?

Proud to say the "Highlander" cliff means nothing to me. That dumpster fire of a film is not in my life experieces. (Thank God, the almighty) (if that is ,in fact, what you were referencing.)

No, the reason he is playing because he is better than Cam Tatum, Skylar McBrick, and Josh Bone. Yeah, he tries. He just doesn't try 100% of the time.

I also think Pearl knows if he benches Scotty for an extended amount time, he basically admits that Scotty is a bust so far.

Are you implying hed be too proud to do what was necesary for SHop's future, with his best interest at heart??

I think that's debatable.

Cam looked better after the suspension. I would have started him, but Scotty's pysche is so fragile, I think Pearl thought it would ruin his confidence and he would check out.

I agree. Cam doesn't have the natural ability that Hopson has, but after the suspension, I would have rather had Tatum in the game.

Who in this thread is attacking Scotty? I'm not. L4T, Emain, ZJC are not. Having an educated basketball fan point out an obvious flaw and indicating how they hope he improves is far from attacking someone.

I'm a huge Scotty fan. Thats why it frustrates me when he goes in the tank after a bad play or turnover. That is far from attacking. You need to lighten up Mr Kush. Don't spin this thread into something it is not

Scotty Hopson isnt very talented. I dont know where this idea that he is so gifted came from. He was an overrated recruit. He was supposed to be able to shoot. Well surprise, he cant.

wrong. He's long, quick, good leaper and reasonable shooter. He, with Lofton's fire, would be a UT great.

I don't have a problem with "if his fire were like loftons" And PReigns, maybe not in this particular thread, and I may have jumped the gun, but there have been PLENTY of posts calling him a softy or a quitter. (@ the very least, implying it) He obviously doesn't show the intensity that Kobe shows, I'm not denying that. But no one needs to pretend that the kid doesn't try @ all and doesn't have a will to win/ get better. That's taking a shot @ his character. They are two different types of criticism. The *ladder is BS.

You will find that the majority of these posts you are referencing are by individuals who will have nothing but negative things to say, despite how well a player or team plays or how well the coaching job is. No names need to be mentioned, but most know who these are.

The rest of us simply have discussions, which may point out flaws or have criticism that we hope is addressed. Such as Scotty's lack of "fire" at times and his dribbling woes.

And, in my *hayste, I apparently confused the two. I apologize for my mistakes. Please, by all means, carry on......
