I stayed with my two little ones until it really started raining hard. Peterman was playing really well, I thought. Worley is not THE GUY that will bring us back to where we want to be.

I didn't see any qb play really well. Ugly. I wonder if they were forcing the offense to work on deep routes . I never saw a screen. For a real game this was may too much on the qb. They need to be able to manufacture offense. Kept looking like they were trying to get it all in one play and therefore no rhytym. Situational stuff was rancid for offense.
No other way to say it. Worley looked awful. At least Peterman can run out of plays.k

Way too many drops tonight... WR Blanc really had a rough night trying to catch the ball as did TE Ellis.

So general consensus among those that attended is that Worley is terrible, Peterman is good at handling broken plays, the defense looks much improved from last year, and at times, the offense looked out of rhythm.

I get your point but the season starts in less than 2 weeks. At some point, we have to draw conclusions that what we see is what we have.

I get both your thoughts but I have been around long enough to know that scrimmages don't tell you anything. "Legends" have been born out of scrimmages that never amounted to anything during games on both sides of the ball while dozens of qb's have been given MVP's or benched permanently.

Of coarse all the other qbs look better than Worley, I've never seen a starting qb yet that looked better than their back ups. the back up qb is always the best player, every body knows that. You people need to relax with the Worley hate, he will be the starter and he will perform better than average.

To be fair to the offense, Tiny said that they didn't show almost any of the offense at all. So, using a "very limited playbook" (Tiny's words) could have contributed to the offense not looking as good as we would like.

All QBs were spotty in my opinion. All had good moments and throws and some bad throws. I was impressed by Ferguson and Dobbs but more so with Ferguson. He can move better than people think.

On a positive note, our punt returners Cam Sutton and Devrin Young both looked really good. They only dropped one (Sutton) out of a total of about 20 and they had about 6 or 7 people standing in their face yelling and waving towels in their faces.

McCullers absolutely blew up a play near the beginning of the scrimmage and almost sacked Worley.

Palardy did well in the beginning but struggled at the end missing a long one.

Justin Coleman had a great practice tonight. He locked down every WR he went up against in one-on-one sessions. Looked extremely quick and confident.

Don't draw conclusions based on one scrimmage.

Thought Worley played very well last year when he spotted Bray in the Vandy game. But if he looked like he'd been out drunk the night before this practice, that's not good. We'll just have to see if he will get into a rhythm and be on instead of half on.

I counted at least 8 recruits on the field prior to the scrimmage. Some I recognized (TK Jr) and some I didn't. My point is this; I was glad to be there and see 40,000 of my fellow die-hards as well. It undoubtedly sent a powerful message to these recruits about the strength of Vol nation!

Just got home, and I feel like most on here, we will be the most improved defense in the SEC, if not the country. Big Dan is going to make money, he was moving our line around, and we have a good/great line. Ferguson needs a year in the weight room, talented, but VERY skinny. Dobbs showed flashes, and looked the part, in command of the offense.

The running game is going to be improved, and the team looks like an SEC team. Our front seven on defense are going to be good, and Cam Sutton is as good as advertised. Croom in the slot is going to be a mismatch regardless of the opponent, guy is FREAKING HUGE. Quinn had a nice TD catch.

As crazy as it may sound, our D is going to keep us in most games, SERIOUSLY!!

And, the best part......We have a football coach, not just a PR guy. The team has bought in, and are ready to go. But the bad news(sorry, have to be real), Palardy is not going to get it done. One of the final drills had 1:22 on the clock, starting about the 25 yard line, and needing a field goal(scoreboard showed down by 2 points), 1 time out. Offense got in range, and set him up in middle of the field.......kick missed(about a 40 yarder). Butch made the kicking team run back out, and try again, and got in Palardys ear, counting down the kick......2nd try, about 5 yards short, and about 20 feet off the ground. Made them run out and try again, finally nailed it. I honestly think he is a great practice kicker, but when a crowd is present, not so much.

When I left practice yesterday Lane had his knee double ice wrapped. Did Marlon Walls play?

I did not see Walls and Butch singled out every defensive lineman to take a rep against an offensive lineman and I don't recall his name being called.

He was hurting pretty bad with his left knee about 15 min before practice ended. One of the trainers kept looking at it but would not take the brace off on the sideline. Hope he is not hurt. Thanks for the info.
