What happens when Perdue beats Michigan today? I have not seen anyone discuss where Michigan and Perdue play.

Michigan would stay in the CFP.

I would assume as Big 10 champs Purdue would go to Rose Bowl. Since Orange is locked into taking highest ranked Big 10/SEC team TN would go to Orange and Penn St would drop to Cotton or to whocares bowl.

I don’t get why people are upset at missing the Sugar Bowl. Playing a crappy Big 12 school with 3/4 losses is a much worse matchup than a potential 11-2 Clemson ACC champ.

Orange Bowl is the much better bowl for us. Not that trashy Nola Crap Hole

Hey I want the Orange to but there us nothing trashy about the sugar bowl. It is the number 1 pick outside the playoffs for the SEC. Utah and LSU are 3 loss teams too but they are very good solid teams. Kansas St is pretty sound and if they beat TCU they are a worthy opponent. They will be ranked right there with Clemson or North Carolina which ever wins.

If you would have read my comments I said I want the Orange. If you go back and look at my post the last week I have stated that and pulled for that. Having said that the Sugar is not a trash bowl. You are absolutely correct and even though we beat LSU and Bama, they can both screw us if LSU wins and Bama stays ahead of Tennessee. That would put us right back in the cotton bowl. Not complaining based on the incredible season that no one expected but it would sting a little. Go Vols!

GA isn't dropping out of the playoffs with a loss in a CCG and neither is Michigan.

Georgia doesn’t look like world beaters this year. At times LSU has looked like a team that could beat a Georgia team if they weren’t taking care of business.

Although I “expect” Georgia to win. I just don’t think they are quite as good as advertised.

I think UGA has trouble staying motivated in the less marquee games. That won’t be the case today.

. I agree way to risky too pull for a LSU win. It could screw us to the cotton. That is the only scenario that could screw us from the Orange Bowl and send us to the cotton. Not worth the risk of jumping Bama.

At this point, a team’s resumè is about season of work. There is nothing about TCU’s schedule that is more impressive than UGA or Michigan’s….

TCU currently has two wins vs teams in final season CFP Top 25 and a loss nullifies one of them.

UGA has wins over a top 10 and Top 25 final season CFP rankings.

To say that TCU’s schedule is better than either is a dumb statement. If that was the case, they would have great wins… to date, they haven’t beaten a team with fewer than 3 losses… UGA and Michigan can’t say that.

Ok. The point was that if LSU were somehow to win, they would automatically go to the Sugar Bowl as SEC champion. That would most likely bump Alabama down to the orange bowl and send Tennessee to the Cotton.

If LSU beats UGA, then they deserve whatever reward they get.

TCU has beaten this KSU team and TX (Bama’s best win). So you’re saying Bama jumps them? It’s completely impossible to justify Bama over TCU in any universe. You were adamant that we were going to the playoffs if we had just remained a one loss team and nothing else was necessary around us. I can guarantee that wouldn’t have been the case had USC, Oregon and/or Clemson remained one loss P5 champs. The committee repeatedly leaped teams over others with comparable records based on who/how they played that particular week. Oregon was behind PSU, both with 2 losses, the next week Oregon is ahead of PSU with a win over Utah, despite PSU beating Rutgers by 45. At the same time Oregon jumped us, despite having a 46pt loss to UGA compared to 14 for us. The committee has admitted that recency plays into their logic, despite it not being an official criteria, so USC, Clemson or Oregon ending the season with top 25 wins and conference titles while we would’ve feasted on SCar and Vandy would’ve led to leapfrogging.

How is that fools gold? You don’t think our staff doesn’t know we got to continue to get better there. We actually had a few games this year when our secondary played pretty good. Heupel and staff know we have to continue to improve no matter what. So if it is Clemson by all means put the big orange crush on them!!!!!GBO

Yes, Alabama would probably beat TCU, but it's ridiculous to say going undefeated means nothing. Their season was better than Alabama's by every metric.
