They've beaten two teams that are currently ranked- #10 and #20. Those are the only two they've played. Bama has beaten three- #14, #20, and #24. They played 5 with both of the losses close.
If the goal is to put the 4 best teams in then you have to ask yourself if TCU would beat Bama.... or either of the teams that Beat Bama.
I do not believe Bama should get in. I think UT deserves it more than Bama or a one loss TCU team. That's not how the CFP voted. IMO Bama and UT are better teams than TCU. If you take UT's schedule and see what they did against their opponents then look at TCU scraping by some relatively bad teams... a loss by them SHOULD count more.
Michigan would stay in the CFP.
I would assume as Big 10 champs Purdue would go to Rose Bowl. Since Orange is locked into taking highest ranked Big 10/SEC team TN would go to Orange and Penn St would drop to Cotton or to whocares bowl.
of course that depends on the Rose not just making it up as they go
Yes, Alabama would probably beat TCU, but it's ridiculous to say going undefeated means nothing. Their season was better than Alabama's by every metric.
So let's just scrap everything and play Alabama against Georgia for the natty, since they're clearly the two most talented teams. By your logic, there's no need to even play a regular season. Just go by past draft numbers and recruiting rankings, and they'll be sure to get it right.No. It means nothing. What little meaning it does have will get wiped away when Oklahoma and Texas go to the SEC. But those teams are trash right now anyways.
Do you know how many players get drafted from the Big 12 for the whole conference? Maybe 20 a year. Rarely any 1st rd picks. How about playoff appearance? 0-4
And when has a big 12 team last won a national championship? Texas 2005.
The big 12 gets more credit than they deserve by the committee thinking it means anything. Only thing it actually means is that they are surely going to lose in the playoffs.
Yeah, there’s always a chance for LSU I guess. But I think it would be less than desirable to have to play the G-5 team. No win situationWell, unless LSU beats UGA. Then we might be looking at a LSU to Sugar Bowl and Alabama to Orange Bowl situation (presuming KSU doesn’t beat TCU by 50-70 points).
To clarify, if LSU were to pull the upset today, they’d automatically go to the Sugar.

That’s never the way it works. Cincinnati certainly wasn’t one of the best 4 teams last year. If it’s close, politics comes into play. I might be wrong but I’m pretty sure the committee will do anything to avoid having 2 SEC teams and 2 Big 10 teams in there. Optics would not be good with an 11 and 1 TCU team that lost in an extra game in OT.If committee is picking the best four teams ....TCU is not going to be in the final top 4 list.
But they already put them as one of the best. They lose in OT to a good team they've already beaten by literally inches (I thought he was in). All of a sudden the committee realizes Bama is better? Man, making it to your conf champ is for losers. Literally, apparently. If committee is picking the best four teams ....TCU is not going to be in the final top 4 list.
