Orange Bowl cancellation watch thread

Yeah, and in fact it happens that the best 4 teams is plenty enough. 12 is gracious overkill. Nobody ever said "wow, everybody thought this team was #5, but now we suddenly realize they're really the best". After the whole season, you just don't need that much precision at all. One of these days, a 4 seed will win, but it won't be because they really were the #1 seed and nobody knew it. Football is not like that.

Anyway, expect lots and lots of pearl-clutching about which team is #12 and which one is #13. Pretty lame stuff.
Bama and Ohio st both won being #4 seeds

Absolutely incorrect. 4 is nowhere close to bebeing enough. 12 is the ideal and perfect number.

Funny thing is if we were still using BCS rankings it has bama at 3 and FSU at 4 with Texas out. People will still be outraged with 12 teams even though 6-12 will likely get blown out
Next year won't be any better. Same **** different format

Carson Beck is coming back to UGA next year and playing in the Orange Bowl. Was hoping he'd make a dumb decision and declare for the draft.

Another QB transfer announcement from FSU. So with Travis out, the backup (Rodemaker) transferring, and his backup (Duffy) transferring, it will just be the true freshman QB (Glenn) starting and as their only scholarship QB on the roster.

FSU will have the waterboy at QB at this rate. This will be ugly. Reminds me of LSU a few years ago ended up having a WR play QB in their bowl game if I remember right. Whatever the current spread is, it's not enough.

Much ado about nothing.

With FSU complaining about money, foregoing a bowl-and a NY6 one at that would not look very good.

Would also guarantee some elephant memories on the committee. Would pretty much guarantee the Seminoles would be left out of the playoffs whenever there was any opportunity-"we weren't sure if they would show up to play the game or not".

Did FSU get screwed s little bit-yes. Entirely of their own making though and a result of a chain of events set in motion over 30 years ago. I like FSU, but they really have no choices here and continuing to whine is not going to solve any of their problems.
Nailed it. Man up, 'Noles.

Georgia has a statement to make. They will likely do in Old English font on FSU’s ass.
What possible statement? No one anywhere - committee, analyst, or otherwise - is looking at Georgia and thinking they’re frauds or winners benefiting happenstance/lucky coincidences after the last 6-7 years.

I kind of hope they do. I’m so tired of the “poor FSU” crap. This wasn’t Outzen and the 98 Noles beating a top 5 Spurrier coached team. They limped in against 2 mediocre teams.

They missed making that statement in the SEC championship game. Regardless of what they think, they are not even the best team in the SEC. And the only statement that a victory by UGA makes is that Bama was the correct team to select.
