Oregon coach describes UT as "unbelievable"

The last 3 years were unbelievable, if at the end of 2009 season someone had said we would have 3 losing season I would have laughed at them then came mattress burning, orange pants, shower training, a new NCAA rule and losses to KY & Vandy.

They only put up that kind of yardage because of our lack of time of possession. Those stats are skewed due to our offense scoring in 2 minutes after a turnover or on those pick 6s. Our defense was on the field for TWENTY minutes in the first half. In that time WKU had 260 of those almost 400 yards. I'm not saying our defense is perfect but give credit where it's due man... Those 400 yards aren't the true tale of the game.

The Wolf has a point, Ulysees, though he's ignoring his mom's advice to not play with pointy things. He has a
point just the same.

Yeah...I get that, but in watching the replay and seeing the middle of the field so open you could park a 787 in it, I had visions (more like nightmares) Of Thomas and Mariota running wild, while our not spectacularly fast, or well tackling defense chasing them to the endzone. UO is going to kill us with that stupid read option dump over the middle pass....

I would say our team is very close to where UVA is. They'll probably win 5-7 games and be fighting to get in a bowl game late in the season just like we hope to be.

Everyone should consider that and also that UVA played Oregon at home and was absolutely humiliated. We probably match up worse with Oregon than any of the SEC heavyweights. We'll do better against UGA, UF, and USC because our players know them, and our teams have been built with an eye towards those teams, not with beating a fast break juggernaut like Oregon.

There's a reason we're 27 point dogs. We're almost certainly going to get hammered. Best we can hope for IMO is for no one to get hurt, the team to not quit, and to keep the final margin to less than 30. It could very easily get out of hand to where we lose by 40 or 50.

the difference is that they're fighting to get to bowl-eligibility in the ACC. I'd say we're a solid 1-2 wins better than them against the same schedule.

You can call it what you want, but I don't think Oregon's coach is going to evaluate us on anything other than the facts. We bring the biggest, most athletic line they've seen all year and we forced a lot of turnovers last week.

Agree.....Against a WKU team that had some quality talent....CBJ and staff will prepare our team on both sides of the ball for every situation possible. This is something that I believe has not been done since 1998....will we win, if every thing clicks in and adrenalin gets pumping it is possible....the thing about it is that we have a chance that we did not have had in the past years.....because of coaching and prep...we should be competitive and the WKU game was a good prep game because we showed two halves of stamina that has been absent before....

We are in a win win situation.....a win by the Vols signifies we are headed back to the top.....a close game with a loss turns heads....a blow out and others will say Its just Oregon.

This I agree on. Of course Oregon doesn't challenge the middle too often, but I imagine if they can pick our backers like WKU did AJ all day with their route design...they'll get Mariota to try and through forwards instead of his usual sideways screens.

I'm hoping we can stay competitive and maybe win this thing by letting our O line destroy their tiny D line all day. Grind them into the dirt and keep their offense off the field. Maybe if we can lay a couple really big, intimidating hits on Mariota and the Black Mamba we can set a tone for the game.. somebody needs to come up with those big hits though.

Its Coach speak. Really doubt they are shaking in their feathers, especially over our QB play. This is the game I can see Worley getting yanked if he keeps missing wide open receivers. Hell we gave up 400and yards of offense at home to WK, hate to see how gassed our D will be and potential for a beating. I hope we can be competitive and definitely think we have a better showing that what Dooley's Coached team did. In all honesty I think we can play them within the 21 pt spread but alot of those passes Worley had the first 2 games would be intercepted. He just doesnt have much arm strength.

He is just grooming his ducks to make them look good, if they win.

Make no mistake CBJ has been practicing for OU all summer, win, lose or draw we will be ready, as CBJ said you have to get past them scoring, or making big plays because they will.
