Oregon to target Pearl?

I watched a 3 hour show on the brackets and they literally talked about every game except the UT-SDSU game.

That's how much airtime our winning has gotten us.

Not getting curb-stomped in our last appearance may have given us a little more airtime.

Don't you think?

Just because the NCAA recognizes one as worse doesn't mean it actually is worse. I'm sure many coaches across the country cheat in some ways to get better players. That's bad, but in my opinion, it's not as bad as taping a teenager's conversation and using it to rat out another program.

I have no clue which one is worse. But Pearl isn't the only coach in the country who lacks ethics. Ethics just doesn't seem to be the reason Hat bases his interest in coaches.

Hat doesn't really seem like bending the rules really bothers him. However he's made it pretty clear he considers snitches to be subhuman.

That answers my question. He knows his stuff about college bball, but the Pearl dislike sort of confused me because I believe Pearl is ok as a coach.

yeah that's why the median house is worth well over $600K. it's a real craphole.

That's one of the main drawbacks to living there. I didn't want to spend 1200 dollars a month for a small studio apartment.

when you look at what 500k buys you there compared to say Knoxville. It's a lot to give up.

You think Johnny Majors did all of the heavy lifting that made the Tennessee football program what it is?

Majors "heavy lifting" put UT in a position where the 90's were possible and Fulmer didn't have to actually build anything. THe UT he took over and the UT he left were completely different programs. Maybe not the best example ever but it fits

And this is just my personal opinion, but I'd rather live with a bunch of far right, bible nuts then far left, tree people...

True. I think Majors could have won a title but maybe I stand alone. Either way, Majors is a decent example, but not really what BPV was talking about. BPV care to chime in?

Got any other examples to help illustrate your point?

The Bay Area is expensive but that doesn't mean Berkeley is a nice place...this is even more true for Oakland

btw the rockridge area of oakland is the nicest place in the bay area to live as far as i am concerned.

berkeley has world class cuisine, is minutes from san francisco by bart or car, has some of the best public schools in the bay area, and has the best weather in the bay area (far better than san francisco). telegraph is one street in berkeley, let's not act like that is the whole city.

comparing it to a cow pasture like eugene is ridiculous.

Just think about sports. There are examples out there.

I think Frank Beamer could be an example of that to be honest...

there is a reason why it's more expensive and it's not because californians are a bunch of leftist wackjobs who don't know any better.

According to Jim Rome Tennessee is the "girl" you have a one night stand with, but USC is the "girl" you settle down and marry. So what kind of "girl" is Oregon? A hooker or stripper maybe? Although his comments were on the football situation i do not think that Oregon has anything to offer that Tennessee does not.

An ugly one with terrible style.

VT was pretty bad... Especially when they were still in the Atlantic 10

Yes, they were bad and Frank Beamer has made them very good compared to what they were. It still has nothing to do with what BPV was suggesting.

I simply checked their records...I didn't know when they switched conferences. I don't know too much about what happened before I was born. If you're right, then Beamer is a perfect example.

I guess you could argue the same about Tuberville at Auburn, but I think he would have been fine.

Yes it does. He improved them from where they were, but he isn't going to be winning national titles anytime soon. That's exactly what BPV was talking about.
