Too bad you don't understand that without the showmanship this program is going to fall flat on it's face. We needed it to get where we are, and to stay where we are.
We'll see BPV.
You will get your wish sooner or later, and then we will see who is right.
Perfectly said, and I agree 100%. I honestly think UT would have a tough time getting someone better. I think we could, but we would have difficulty with it. That being said, we should in no way be content to have a ceiling of Sweet 16 and pay elite money for it.My wish is Elite 8 and beyond. I want our current coach to do that. Vindication for him and for us. I think this next recruiting class is a huge step in that direction. Some of the subtle (and not so subtle) changes we've seen this year are hopefully showing somewhat of a new approach to winning in the dance.
I think you mistake my worldview. I think our coach has made UT a viable elite program contender. We can move that forward or stagnate. I don't view backward as likely. I view forward as the only acceptable route.
IMO and from by former business, the guy that does all the heavy lifting in making a product work is rarely the guy to take that product to the promise land. Requires different skills and different mindset. That's not saying CBP can't do it. That's saying it's tough to go from rah-rah to demanding of players what it takes to win.
Frankly, I hope like all hell he does it. Don't take my arguments to mean that I don't want him here or hope he takes that next step. I want him here to the extent I believe he takes that next step.

I'm not sure what your former business was, but unless it was coaching, do you mind giving a couple relevant examples because I can't think of any.IMO and from by former business, the guy that does all the heavy lifting in making a product work is rarely the guy to take that product to the promise land. Just because the NCAA recognizes one as worse doesn't mean it actually is worse. I'm sure many coaches across the country cheat in some ways to get better players. That's bad, but in my opinion, it's not as bad as taping a teenager's conversation and using it to rat out another program.Question. Why do you have a personal distaste for Pearl? Is it because of ethics? Then why do you like Calipari and BCG?
I wasn't alive for most of Majors tenure, and I was too young to remember the end, but was it really that certain he couldn't win? He did have 2 SEC titles in the 3 years before getting fired and he certainly had some very good seasons towards the end of his career.one that comes to my mind is Johnny Majors
