Oregon?

where does it say he didn't give a cent before 1996? all you have linked is that he didn't build them a practice facility until then.

It is widely known and the above article spelled it out can you not read? I attended Oregon in the early 90's the weightroom in the basement of Autzen was inferior to my highschool's at the time. Yet those kids were able to win the conference and get to a rosebowl without the help of Phil Knight. And until you can produce anything that says differently (which I know you won't) your credibilty on this topic is NIL.

But you can still live in a delusional world where Oregon has 2-3 nonquals a year do to grades, where Oregon didn't get good until after the money came in and when Phil Knight dies Oregon will be mediocre.

I don't know why you are positioning yourself as some sort of expert on Oregon on SEC web sites. You honestly HAVE NO CLUE what you are talking about.

As I said in the first post, your bias and jealousy toward Oregon shows through, if only you had more brains to back up your assertions we could have an intelligent discussion.

i love the "widely known" argument that has no facts or links to back it up and i love this theory that he didnt' give a dime, yet somehow has personal access to mike bellotti immediately after a bowl game. enjoy your 7-5 season, your delusion, and your annual ass kicking by cal.

Here you are with a come back about not offering facts while this is all you have done this entire thread? Irony.

I know you must have spent at least 30 minutes searching the web trying to refute me. Mission failed.

Buhbye!

maybe not the last 10 years, but absolutely the last 5 years. cal's average star rating has been higher (sometimes significantly higher) 4 out of the last 5 years.

The only problem with this is that it is a lie. Using Scout's recruiting data, Oregon has beaten Cal in recruiting the past three years straight.

in 2009 UO 26th, Cal 34th
In 2008 UO 23rd, Cal 32nd
In 2007 UO 9th, Cal 12th

For anyone who does not know, Oregon lost badly to Boise State and in losing the QB Masoli made Crompton look like Joe Montana. One of their best defenders T.J. Ward was injured badly. After the game the Ducks starting running back Blount, sucker punched a Boise State player and then had to be dragged out of the stadium by security after he started going after some of the fans.
Tempers flare as Broncos bully Ducks in 19-8 win - College Football - Rivals.com

It now looks like Oregon could lose to Purdue and Utah out of conference.

It also looks like the head coach has no control over his thug players.

I seriously doubt we see the Pac 10 guys here again, but if so, welcome back to the board and know that I will be cheering Go Ducks whenever they play USC and whatever other Pac 10 non competitor with the SEC in recruiting whose abilities you try to puff.

George Uko - Yahoo! Sports
We need him to ignore Oregon and USC.
Josh Shirley - Yahoo! Sports
We need him to say no to his teammate who wants him at USC, and no to UCLA (who I hope we physically POUND) and no to Miami (who I think may start their collapse of a season on Monday night).
Victor Burnett and some of the 3 star DBs like Malone and Hurd are looking at both of us also.

Oregon is probably the only team willing to take them because everyone else knows they won't be eligible. They see the facilities and here is their thought process; "Yo meng... dis place b tight 4 realz homie. I gots ta get mi sum boiii!".

That should be Oregon's first clue that they aren't going to be eligible academically. :wink2:

What did I tell you? :p

Did you hear Blount's apology? The school system has failed him.

Oregon has problems above and beyond this one players melt down.

They tackled horribly even when they could get their hands on a ball carrier. They looked slow up front and even the linebackers looked slow. I think some of this might be due to the offensive scheme used against them though.

Oregon was clueless in their defensive formations much of the time.

They played with very little passion on either side of the ball.

QB play was horrible, this guy couldn't hit a barn much of the time.

Offense......well lets face it Oregon had none (and the Boise St defense aren't exactly world beaters)

Running backs looked slow and weren't physical.

Anything else I forgot?

Though in fairness, I'm pretty sure droski has taken his L already on this entire subject, so I think we can back off...

D Roski probably looks like Best with his helmet off after the season Cal has endured.

They could finish with a better record than TN but would you rather lose to your two main rivals by 10 and a blocked field goal or 72-6 combined?

Yucky bears...

oregon has an unbelievable amount of big recruits that fail to qualify every year which tells me they offer a lot of guys other people don't think will qualify and therefore don't go hard after. they do pull the occasional 5 star guy like stewart, but their classes tend to be top heavy and as i said a lot of these guys don't qualify. i'd argue their talent level is consistantly behind usc (obviously), cal, and ucla. no chance they sniff a nc in my lifetime. i'd be shocked if they won more than 8 games this year OR finished in front of cal, sc, stanford, or ucla in recruiting.

Sniff Sniff
Just about every comment that you made about UO in this thread was 100% wrong.

Their the only good team in an easy conference. They took USC's place at the top of the conference. If you want to play in the PAC-10 then Oregon is your only option right now. Its the same mold Florida St. and Miami followed played in the 80's and 90's before they merged. Now TX is also going back to an easier conference, so they can be that one dominate team.

Let's move past this. Oregon is really good this year. Are they are a historical powerhouse? No, but its tbd how long they can stay dominate.

The only issue I see is eventually defenses will figure out how to stop them, and even this year their d is nothing special.
