Our Recruiting doesn't look so good all of a sudden

I think there needs to be a requirement for people to watch and follow a full season of recruiting before they should comment on it. Guys, ESPN's rankings are garbage. Secondly, there is the AA game. We will do VERY well with our recruiting class this year and I am excited about it.

Didn't one of our commits win Defensive MVP? It's not rankings, it's ability plus coaching, right?

Check the average star ranking for the teams right now.

Exactly. The sheer numbers will work for schools like Auburn who already have 27 commits when everyone else has like 20 or 21. UTs avg. star rating is very good...

We are going to finish very strong and likely with at least two 6.0 4stars, Green and Cullen...

Theres a month till NSD and we are still a top 6 class according to ESPNU and rivals. Even the D-bags calling the UA game today said to not really pay attention to ranking right now, alot can change between now and Feb 3rd. They was suckin on the Gator teet BIG time today though. :censored: Gators!!

We will have a top 5 class...

Disagree. Top 10 sure, not top 5, just not many studs left I think we bring in.

Green and Cullen may be the best two left we have the best shot at and losing Willis will even out getting Green.

Recruiting Class rankings can be very misleading.
We had a top class when we signed Peyton Manning and Brandon Stewart, but only one of them could play QB (and the other transferred).

This year, if we fill the glaring holes we have in OL (as we are doing), it's going to be a good class for us. WE also have stocked up some great WR's to elevate that position, have a top Kicker who should start), bringing in some excellent DE's, signed a great QB, etc.

I'm excited about the track we are on. Whether it's top 5 or just top 20, we are eliminating some of those glaring weaknesses one by one, systematically, with some good athletes handpicked by our staff. The next time we come to the Georgia Dome, heads will roll (and they will belong to a team from the SEC West).

There is a reason Hubbs is saying we will finish with a top 5 class and a reason the Rivals guys have been saying UT is a dark horse for the #1 class. The #1 class won't happen now, but we will finish VERY strong...

I like the way you think :hi:

TN is in prime position to have a top 5 class. We are not talking about UT coming off a sugar bowl win or natl title appearence but a 7-6 season that ended with a thud. We are fine!

We seem to forget the kids that were committed to other schools at this time last year that ended up being VOLS. Let it all play out and enjoy the ride!

I'm still confused as to why this thread was ever started, considering we are still rated the #6 recruiting class by rivals. I bet there are lots of teams that would like to be #6 right now.

who is announcing in the army all american game that we have a shot at getting.

Ahmad Dixon
Brandon Willis

Our fans need to realise that especially this year we are recruiting NEEDS not WANTS.
OL and DTs are hard spots to evaulate. So is the LB position.

Look at Michael Taylor. Beaststud, but if you went by his Rivals Rankings you would just think he is another flower in a bed of roses.

Like they said today, you dont build an 85 man roster overnite, its a process and takes 2-3 full years of recruiting your own players. I know in todays college football its win now, no excuses but you just gotta have faith your staff will get it done sooner than later.

I hate to reiterate this again, but here goes. At the end of the year, it doesn't matter if you are talking about the SEC, the BCS, or the AP. None of these people look back at a recruiting class when it comes time to crown a champion. These rankings don't mean diddly sh*t. Look at our rankings for the past four years, and on top of that, consider the fact we have had, arguably, the biggest attrition rate in the nation this year. We still fielded a team that played two #1 opponents close. If we had fielded even a decent special teams unit this year, we would be 9-4 or 10-3. Don't let these rankings(especially ESPN"s rankings) by people that don't even coach college football get your panties in a wad. They have Scroggins as a 5* if I'm not mistaken and Bray as a 3*. They also have that Parkey kid ranked higher than Palardy. After the UA game today, I would rather have the lower ranked kid in both instances.

I'm saying that they are doing better.
I am quite sure we will have top 10 ...probably top 5 class.
but read what i am saying.
in order to catch and beat those guys we have to have classes equal to and or better than them and right now we do not
You should know by now, the detractors here never bother to read what is actually posted (said). That would take too much time.
