Yes, it will. The entire Pac-10 relies on California for the backbone of their recruiting much in the same way the Big XII relies on the state of Texas. UCLA will naturally get a boost from USC's sanctions, but I don't know if UDub can pull off another actual period of dominance. They have some tradition but the northwest just doesn't produce any hometown football talent.Oregon has built a very solid program over the past 15 years or so. The connection with Nike, the uni's (kids love them), and the exciting offense will keep them recruiting well and in the national picture. I don't think they have the right coach yet, but when they do, I think they will get their NC. UW, UCLA, ect returning to glory will not affect Oregon as much as some think.

You have to look at it on a different scale for Stanford, Oregon and Oregon State. The fact that Stanford can even be a middle of the road BCS conference program as an ivy league-level institution is incredible. Getting them to Holiday Bowls and turning out some pro prospects is about the best anybody can ever get them.how many national titles do they have between them?
how many pac-10 titles even?
around here we fire championship coaches...

Oregon and Oregon State have to compete as programs in BFN towns in a state that produces, on an annual basis, maybe a blue chipper and seven or eight at most BCS-caliber starting talents. Quite possibly among the least HS talent of any state with BCS program.
A couple of conference titles every decade and top 10 finishes is about the absolute best these programs can do. Nat'l titles are almost out of the question, really.
So...if being in a hot recruiting area is important, why doesn't UCLA consistently compete? Don't tell me that it's because of USC. So Cal has plenty of talent to go around.
Erik Ainge, Ndamukong Suh, Curtis White, Owa, Kellen Clemens, Joey Harrington...all Oregonians.

Ucla could dominate football like they dominate everything else if they chose to pony up a real salary for a football coach and better facilities.
I know who good Oregon players have been. I went to hs with ainge. I live down the street from where suh used to. I still go to hs games in the area. Like I said, maybe one blue chipper a year and less than ten legit bcs starters. Very little home grown talent around let alone enough to support two bcs programs, especially two lacking in tradition like u of o and especially Osu.

You don't raid anything. You get what's left over after the big boys are done stocking their rosters.

Two whole players. I bet Bob Stoops and Mack Brown are just quivering in fear that Oregon is going to deplete them with these "raids" on Texas. It appears we have found the western fanbase with the same delusional qualities South Carolina possesses.Right....
Lache Seastrunk. 5 star RB from Houston. USC pursued him HEAVILY. Where did he go? Oregon.
Another Texan player that we have is LaMichael James. You may have heard of him.

Ooh, a four star QB. We never see those in the SEC. You guys are a shoo in for that national title now. I bet Urban Meyer and Nick Saban are shaking at the idea of an offensive genius like Chip Kelly is going to have such a prospect at his disposal.Want to know where our 4 star QB commit per Rivals (#11 ranked QB in the Class of 2011) is from? Florida.
I wonder why the SEC couldn't reel him in...
last summer Oregon fans were bragging about LaGarrette Blount being plucked from the SEC's backyard. what, you dont claim him anymore?

Probably wants to play in a league where nobody plays championship level defense. That allows frauds like Joey Harrington to run up big numbers and steal NFL money. The SEC doesn't set up well for that. It's just funny that a guy in Florida's backyard that Florida (amongst other schools such as Ohio State, Florida State, Michigan, ND, etc.) pursued heavily won't go there...
