Tried that, although with the way wrong way of doing it. After WWII, the nations of Germany and Japan (along with the other Pacific and European nations) rebuilt themselves. They used German labor or Japanese workers.

After OIF, we failed by bringing in thousands of third country nationals to rebuild Iraq. Instead of using reasonably cheap and readily available Iraqi labor, we decided it was best to tell them "go home, nothing to do here." And a person without a job tends to be spiteful of those they might have seen as liberators otherwise. Especially when they see other nationalities doing the jobs they very well could be doing.

I disagree, people will reform their basic ideologies during those times. Or at least seriously rethink them. You take the militaristic approach of the Japanese citizen and government during WWII. After they got soundly trounced during that war, they rethought their position on the world stage and moved in a different direction.

Or of the Germans and their positions during WWII. While the concentration camp workers and those that supported the Final Solution were relatively minor in number, the Germans rethought their position significantly on allowing their government to have such power. And in turn refocused their political ideology away from authoritarianism towards a republic.

The Marshall Plan should have been the template we followed post invasion in Iraq. And it could have worked had we not followed the path I outlined before.

And splitting Iraq into three distinct nations: Sunni, Shi'a and Kurd. Should have been done already. Needs to be done now as a minimum in Kurdistan.

The gate way to defeating ISIS is through Kurdistan. The Kurdish army ( the Peshmerga) number around 150,000. They are well trained and they can hold there own on the battle field. They just need to be supplied well. NATO should form an allied force around 20,000-45,000 and help the Kurds push ISIS and just secede control of Eastern and Southren Syria to Assad and Russia. This is the only way I see anything getting done.

You do realize that one of the attackers was a Syrian "refugee" who had recently passed through Macedonia seeking, as you claim, "opportunities to have a new life". What you don't seem to realize is that "pursuing opportunities for a new life" is code for "KILL THE INFIDELS" to radical Muslims/Islamists/Jihadis/(whatever you choose to call them to soothe your political conscience).

The flood of refugees has happened because Assad has been killing 100,000 people a year. If Obama holds his word about Assad crossing the "Red line" this doesn't happen.

It looks like there was up to 24 terrorists. 7 are dead and its safe to assume that the bomb maker is still on the run too.

The only person that gives a damn about what Iran and Turkey want is Obama. The Kurds are going to gain their independence soon. Especially when many people believe that the Turks are funding ISIS.

Almost 75% of France's Jewish population packed up and moved back ti Israel after the attack on the Jewish markt and Charlie Hebdo.
