well from what I understand, oftentimes scared people follow/are drawn to extreme views...like there's some comfort or feeling of control or power on their part perhaps

I know all I need to know when I see a certain group crash planes into our builidings, put bomb making material in their underwear or shoes, kill members of our military and would love to see us all killed due to our religious freedoms. I don't have to give out speeding tickets to know that.

Yes this is an excellent opportunity to share God's love in a magnificent way. It is also an opportunity to educate the Haitian people about the reality of blessings and cursings that we are all subject to as nations. It is also an opportunity to show the other nations around the globe the effects of these curses.

Being a true Christian is not just about sitting around a campfire singing Kumba-ya. There is a real enemy that we face who brings real death and destruction upon all that he can.

As to their souls, yes the loss of any soul is tragic - and avoidable. Sugarcoating the full truth of God's word isn't going to help. That said, these truths should be spoken with love and compassion and the hope of changing lives.
