Pearl Has Zero Credibility Now

bruce pearl and his staff have no credibility whatsoever. The accomplishments that they attained, though great, have now been completely overshadowed by this recent event. As an alum, it makes me sick to think about how he has disgraced our university, our athletic department, and the athletes he has on this current team.

All of you that ***** and whine about calipari can now shut up. The fact is, we were cheating and trying to cover it up. This makes pearl no better than anything anyone has accused cal of doing.

In my opinion, pearl should be on very, very shaky ground. Any misstep now should result in his termination. And i wouldn't be too upset if he was terminated as a result of this. This is truly sickening and sad day for ut athletics.

If he admitted it, how did he cover it up ? Or do you meen he didn't turn himself in until he was asked about it ?

If you're asking me, I think Pearl admitted it when he knew the NCAA was going to find out. So, he pretended he had an attack of conscious. That's what I think most likely happened.

More speculation from you... surprising.

Exactly how did he know the NCAA was going to say he was lying? Did he somehow ease in on a conversation?

Since we're speculating, I believe he realized that he made a minor problem that would've resulted in only a slap on the hand into a major problem by lying and thus admitted it.

I don't know if you're into responding to every post I make or what. I don't believe I said that that post was anything other than speculation. That's why I said "I think." Try grabbing a clue.

Everything you have said is speculation. And if you didn't want someone to respond to your nonsense then I suggest you don't click that thing that allows you to create a thread and post a rant that could've fit in on one of the other 500 threads on the topic.

This just gets better. Is it supposed to be an insult to say that I speculated on what I think most likely happened? Your responses have been nothing other than "that's just speculation." I never intended anything beginning with "I think" to be anything other than speculation. I know that's very hard to grasp.

Yes it sucks we got caught. There is a huge difference between making extra phone calls and giving a kid cash and committing academic fraud. Yes Pearl screwed up, but your a loon if you think he should be fired over this.

i agree with you. the pearl haters are coming out now !!! where were you when we made the elite 8. how much did you hate him then ? he got caught doing what a lot of coaches do, and don't tell me they don't because you know better. i'm disappointed in him but that's all. he won't step down and should not step down. sure , he's on the hot seat for a while but we'll come out of this just fine. :eek:k: :eek:k::clapping:

I'll always support the team and the players. I will not support Bruce Pearl. And if you don't think this is embarrassing to the University, you've got problems.

i guess i've got problems then !!:realmad: :realmad::naughty: :naughty:

I am blown away at how many of you in this thread are willing to accept cheating/lying as a means to win. Absolutely pathetic!! Bruce Pearl just crapped all over UT's reputation and you are willing to give him a pass??? That makes me wanna puke. UT is FAR bigger than Bruce Pearl. Period.

Very well stated. I think the honorable thing would be for Pearl to step aside if Hamilton doesn't have the ***** to fire him. While he's at it, perhaps Hamilton should also step aside. Thanks to his decisions, both the basketball and football programs are now in shambles.

How is the basketball program in shambles? Jumping the gun a bit don't you think? We still had a great class and are in great shape for good '11 and '12 classes. This situation sucks but shambles is a stretch.

It honestly pisses me off when someone says "they cheat, so therefore we should too" or something along those lines.

Guess you wasn't a fan under the Foolmer regime. Should have been here and you would have seen lawlessness at its worst. That was the worst time period in UT history.

I was and saw it. At least Failmer wasn't getting us drilled with NCAA violations. That's about the only positive thing I can say about him. Also, nice to see a fellow Scott Countian on here.

I am absolutely amazed how many people just overlook this....wow.

We really are no different than Bama or Kentucky.

How can you call the only coach at UT to win a NC in 60 years a failure? I just don't understand UT fans continue to run Fulmer down.

I'm not a Pearl fan, never have been since I worked with him in Milwaukee. You can check my old post and see that I've said he was a snake since the beginning, so I don't want to hear that I'm jumping on the bash Pearl bandwagon. However, I can't take away from the winning and excitement he's brought to TN bball. Sometimes you get what you pay for and Hammy hired Kiffin and Pearl and both have the NCAA peeking in our windows and knocking on our doors, so I say off with Hamilton's head and keep close tabs on Bruce. I would dare say that the majority of coaches make "illegal" phone calls, but lying to the NCAA is gonna come back and bite us hard.......both the fball and bball programs are on shaky ground and for good reason.

Since I don't know where to find a yard arm, I think dual firing squads are the next best option.

I agree.....we love to hate on the man that made the NC happen instead of talking about it.

a little over the edge dont you think??? i seriously dont think its going to overshadow his accomplishments.. he has done great things for this university and the program you have to look at the big picture... accomplishments outweigh this mistake by quiet a bit
