I suggest you follow your own advice. BP is now on the same level as the Kiffins(who most people on here loathe) and other cheaters of the world. He knowingly broke the rules and then tried to cover his ass by lying. There's nothing noble in that.

this isn't like a minor infraction. this isn't a kid talking to an agent behind a coaches back. this is a COACH telling the lie. i support how bruce has put us on the map but no way he is not a dirty coach. again hamilton knew what he was getting. but he will take that extra bb revenue too. he can't fire pearl because the bb program would stink and fans would stop coming. he's not a total idiot.

So, because Bruce lied. Then, admitted he lied to his bosses and to the NCAA. Next, he went public with his transgression. Finally, he's been punished by his employer and has accepted his punishment with humility and stands ready to accept whatever additional punishment the NCAA hands down.

And, all of this -- to YOU -- makes him a pariah? I guess you're of the opinion that following electrocution the guilty party should then be flogged, shot, hanged, drawn and quartered, eh?

Tell me, what's the view like from atop the mountain? I hope, for your sake, you can remain part of the robot world and never become a fallible human. Lest, you find yourself, with hat in hand, awaiting sentencing from some Vlad-the-impaler-like image of yourself.

A word of advice ... When they strap you in the Judas chair, suck in the gut!

As I have said before, I take full responsibility for my actions but my actions don't affect an entire university. He should be more cautious in his decision making considering that fact. It's not that hard to comprehend. My day to day life is not nearly as publicized as Bruce's is. That was part of the deal and he knew that taking the reigns of an SEC program. You've heard the saying, "with great power comes great responsibility"

Why do people always feel the need to make things personal? What is in your closet? I can guarantee you that for most people it won't be serious ethical and rules violations that cost millions of dollars to a university, an athletic department, a city and themselves. Bruce is only human so we should feel sorry for him? That line of crap didn't work on his wife either. He knew very well what could happen, and what would likely happen, if he lied to the NCAA and committed violations. He screwed up big time. He doesn't deserve sympathy. He'll have to earn our trust back. To quite a few people, this recent run of success for UT basketball now seems like nothing more than a lie. That is sad for the players, but not for Bruce. He has work to do to show that it isn't all about him.

If we are lucky we can get Wade Houston back. Pearl is the best thing that ever happened to UT. All programs slip up some. Chill man.

He only "repented and came clean" because he realized the truth would eventually come out.

The phone calls were a secondary violation at best. Lying to cover this up puts BP, his staff, and the UT Athletic department on the NCAA radar. Not an enviable place to be.

Coach Pearl has done more IMO as any coach for Tennessee that has darkened the doors since Neyland. Coach Fulmer to my knowledge didnt even go to a Vols bb game let alone painted. Its an attack on coach Pearl BECAUSE he has talent and he makes us relevant, if he did'nt they woundnt bother.

The system will take care of whatever punishment needs to come down on Pearl and our program. The dude made a mistake. Chill out!! Now we will see his character revealed in how he handles it. So far he seems to be doing well. I like Bruce and support him all the way.
ALL I AM SAYING IS GIVE BRUCE A CHANCE! (that would make a great song)

So his character is revealed in how he handles it, but it's NOT revealed in how he broke the rules, then lied to cover it up and took 3 weeks to come clean?
