what did they think about interracial marriage? What was the consensus about adults having more freedom in general? The movement to allow more freedoms for adult citizens is not a negative. It also relates in no way to allowing creepy old men to abuse children
Shouldn't adults predisposed to pedophilia enjoy those same rights with others capable of giving consent?
I've read where children are maturing sexually at ever younger ages now. If science proves the average 12, 13 or 14 year old is capable of consent why shouldn't pedophils enjoy the same rights to persue their sexual urges with consenting partners as heterosexuals and homosexuals do?
you think there's a large number of people who are well aware of child abuses that don't accept it but also don't feel the need to report it?
We have been through this already, back in the day the same could have been said about homosexuality.
Sure. Irish travelers for example, a group within a town that does not mix at all with local society. Things happen there that local society disapproves of, yet local society does not get involved.
Have Christmas things to go do.
You have your head in the sand on this one. 20 years views will have shifted dramatically.
sure they can with consenting adults. Until the protection on children is lifted (and it won't be) then they can just dream about it alone. Science will not be used to prove consent
and interracial marriage and a whole host of things that prevented the freedoms of adults. Didn't make them right
What you are contending is that there will be this uprising of people wanting to sex elementary school kids and that the politicians and public will go along with it. That will not happen
No it is not and quit avoiding it.
It was once accepted that blacks were mentally inferior to whites and laws were passed on that assumption. Science proved them wrong.
yeah my head is in the sand for believing society will protect the most vulnerable among us from predators. It's also in the sand for seeing a difference between consenting adults and boning Fido. You're spot on
In fairness I think it's more a case of people becoming more than a little skeptical about what "can't" become accepted. Yes the tendency is to leap far ahead but still...
if it was never used to set the laws then it's a useless question. "Science" isn't going to figure out the age of consent considering the variables involved
