I would say that if he was actually facing some type of conviction, he would use any excuse he could to keep out of the showers. Plus, if he wasn't competent to know to tell someone that kids were raped or to not let the rapist back into the football complex, he wouldn't be competent to know when to quit coaching.

(Also, I'm not saying he's incompetent, that was more sarcasm. )

Exactly. What's worse? Someone saying "damn, I can't believe Jo Pa was trying to attain a football coaching record since he's so old" or being charged with serious crimes? That's pretty obvious.

At this point, that's a pretty clear indication to me that he was likely going to face some sort of charge.

If true, that just makes this whole situation even more sickening. I just hope he doesn't take the easy way out and kill himself. He deserves everything he would receive in a prison environment.

He'll live in isolated housing. It'll be crappy because it's prison, but he won't have it as bad as he deserves.

This is the thing that kills me. My wife and I are foster parents. I cannot imagine that this man could touch those kids and nothing gets out about it.

Heck, I cant even ask my foster kids to do the dishes twice in a day without it getting back to DCS that I am running some kind of a child labor camp.

I hope like hell that I am right, and there is no way that he touched the kids in his own house. But I fear that I am wrong.

The PD needs to interiew child he contacted in his "charity" and his foster kids.

Today is the first time I've really sat down and looked at this story... All I can say is that there is a special place in hell reserved for people like Sandusky, and that everyone culpable in the PSU admin needs to be wiped out.

The Grand Jury indictment reads like an episode of SVU. Absolutely despicable.

One thing that I think isn't being fully discussed in this thread. I've advocated going after everyone involved as much as you possibly can under the law. If the only charge being considered is this "failure to report" crap, then we'll never know what happened. Hell, it's most likely a misdemeanor. There might be tons of evidence of molestations that are never uncovered. There might be more evidence of criminal behavior by administrative personnel. A misdemeanor and a fine doesn't compel that type of evidence.

If Pennsylvania really wants to uncover the truth, you charge everyone that knowingly allowed Sandusky to use their facilities to molest kids as a coconspirator. When these ass holes are staring prison time in the face, they'll roll on each other, and the truth will emerge.

I read all 23 pages of it myself. You're right, it's like its out of some kind of bad movie. Unfortunately I see this kind of subject matter every day with my job, and its a lot more prevalent than most people think. I don't have children, but if I did...I'd be very worried.

How many hundreds of kids have been through this bastard's camp? I shudder to think how many of them he molested.

I heard students were outside Joe Paternos house tonight(Tues.) to show their support. I think that this inappropriate maybe borderline disgusting. I mean you have victims of child rape here. Joe P wasnt showing his support for that rape victim in 2002. He showed NO leadership at all. When he found out the police werent called the next day HE should have followed up and called them. Did he call the parents? Did he call the anonymous hotline to report it? These students are messed up. If Philip Fulmer, Johnny Majors were in the exact same position I could not go and chant and hold up a sign for a FOOTBALL COACH when multiple rape victims who were children were involved. Its just a job he's got his precious @#$!+& record. Students at PSU should be ashamed to show up to support somebody that didnt support the victimized kids.
