Check out Dave Hooker's interview of Peter White.

He talks about wanting to stay fairly close to home. Says TN is as far West as he's willing to go. Miami was his dream school, but that's changed. Sounds like it's between us and Maryland.

Visiting Miami the week after the UT visit. Says he will likely decide in the week following his last visit. Miami will be fresh in his mind. I tend to think it will be us or Maryland though because of proximity. Travel time for his family is important to him - that's why he didn't take a visit to Oregon. Miami is much further then Knoxville and Maryland is obviously a stones throw away. The more I think about it, the more I think we have a very realistic shot at him.

In regards to Tennessee, who he will visit on January 16th, the Volunteers have been consistent even through a few coaching changes.

"Coach Fulmer was recruiting me when he was there and they kept the offensive line coach, Coach Adkins, but he just recently left to go to Syracuse but I am still interested in (Tennessee)," White said. "Coach Kiffin made an in-home visit. He talked about them trying to rebuild over there and change the whole design over there. He wants freshmen to come in and play early."

Dave Hooker sounds very optimistic about our chances of landing White after talking with him at the Under Armour Game.

Sorry the guy went to my rival HS

Lots of good talent in the WCAC in both Basketball and Football (St. Johns, Good Counsel, Dematha, etc)

Jelani Jenkins goes to Good Counsel and maybe him and Peter White are talking to each other? They are just down the road from each other

I heard someone over at volquest say Peter held up a peace sign and said "UT baby" during sunday's all star game. Sounds promising if it is true. Did anyone else see this?

When he narrowed it down to three, i assumed he would sign at the AA game but i was wrong.

I'm not certain but I don't think that is true.. Otherwise you would have tons of article's about his comment he made.. Most of these kids don't want to give any clue to where they are going...

Maybe he gave the peace sign and said.. :

Peter White will spend the next two weekends thinking about Tennessee.

The 6-foot-5, 340-pound offensive lineman from St. John’s College High School in Washington, D.C., told the News Sentinel that UT offensive coordinator Jim Chaney will visit him Saturday. White will then travel to Knoxville for an official visit on Jan. 16.

White was one of handful of UT prospects participating in the Under Armour All-American Game in Orlando, Fla., last Sunday.

“It was great,” White said. “I liked it a lot. I think I did well.”

White is only considering three schools: UT, nearby Maryland, where he has already taken an official visit and Miami, where he plans to visit this month.

I think it will come down to coming to Knoxville or staying closer to home in Maryland. When this guy sees our campus, I think we will pull ahead of Maryland.
