Peyton manning= best qb ever

I'm pretty sure (since we're imagining) that CP's lack of route running & discipline would've been a burr in Peyton's saddle.

Now if Peyton was able to refine CPs skills? Well then...wow.

I agree with the first part 100%, he would have driven PM crazy. IMO PM expects perfection in himself and everyone else, not sure he would enjoy CP like most people think.

As a lifelong Tennessee fan I really want Manning to be the best QB - but am having fun reading this one from a logic perspective - a few notes:

- It is a team sport, so individual QB stats count more than team championships ?!?
- 97 Heisman voters were idiots, that is why Woodson will be elected to the HOF (and Randy Moss had a better year than either Manning or Woodson in 97, but admittedly against weaker competition)
- Manning > Brady even through Brady has won more rings and has about a 2 to 1 advantage heads up against Manning

Again, I think Manning is probably the most talented QB of all time, and he has quite possibly the best work ethic of any pro. He is a fine gentleman - it is just fun to see how passion and emotion win out over data. Hopefully that passion will lead UT back to relevance - it is a lot more fun in the fall when we we can impose our will on our opponents. GBO.

"Everybody knows Terry Bradshaw is way better than Peyton and Brady. Count the Rings. Also, Eli is better than Brady because Brady can't beat Eli in the Super Bowl."

See how silly the super bowl argument looks when a little bit of logic is applied?

Peyton is the greatest. Period.

Every player in the NFL knows Peyton Manning is the best quarterback ever. The only ones who differ in opinion are the tv networks. Debates are good for ratings.

Not when one QBs stats are 68% 11-0 tds-int and a 120 passer rating in the Super Bowl. I agree counting rings is silly, but being that dominant in the Super Bowl is a pretty strong case.

Most importantly, Peyton is the QB on my fantasy team and he put up 400 yards and 4 TDs today to make up for an off week last week. Greatest of all time arguments are secondary to fantasy football :)

brady has only had one coach. manning has had 4 (5 with del rio). i think this is a bigger deal than most people get. its an excuse used all the time for why qbs and organizations struggle is hc swithing. Peyton has exceled with all four.

also arugent about harrison is dimensioned by full context. he only played with manning and wayne out played him the last few seasons toghether. manning made marvin not vise versa. freeman and brooks were pretty potent in gb during farves magic years. decker and d thomas played with kyle orton and tebow without awesome stats. decker with manning in his prime six seasons or would have also have stats over his real value.

The Patriots missed the playoffs that year.

They did miss the playoffs with a record of 11-5 in an odd series of events. Miami won the division at 13-3. They lost a tie breaker for a WC spot to Indy.

It was also the year the Titans won the South so 9-7 San Diego won their division and got to host WC 12-4 Indianapolis.

Nobody said Harrison made Manning. The guy said he made the worst receivers outstanding, Harrison and Wayne were really good receivers. Did Manning make them better? No doubt, but to totally dismiss them is ignorant. Jerry Rice would have bad stats with Tebow, bad example. So PM made his Wrs, but Favres made him? Also please tell santa to get you a dictionary for Christmas.

Sorry, but Brady > Manning. I came to that conclusion this year. Brady would have 60 TDs if he had the weapons that Manning does.

GBO!

Really? You realize Brady had some of the best weapons. #notgoodenough

Brady had better defenses than Peyton did.
Manning's final year at Colts (playing) 10-6 and 2-14 without him.
Broncos 8-8 without him. Last year 13-3, this year 12-3.
Brady doesn't dissect defenses like Manning. Boston spent way more money putting in weapons for Brady while Manning turned players into weapons like Wayne and Clark

Lol what? Besides Moss for a short period, and Welker who are his best weapons? Troy Brown? Deion Branch? Kevin Faulk? Brady had a better defense, but the better weapons argument is ridiculous.

Manning has elevated the position and performed at a level unheard of for the last 10-12 years. Brady has been elite for 6-7 years. He was not elite when they were winning super bowls. I'm sorry. Ultimately the super bowls are all that some people are ever going to Be able to accept. So Peyton just needs to win another. If he wins 2 more, he retires as the GOAT unquestionably.

the weapons manning has?? If there was any other quarterback throwing to them they would look average at best. Welker was suppose to be the best one and he has actually been not as good as projected. The 2 Thomas's came pretty much out of nowhere and have been dominating along with eric decker who has been on fire.

Decker had 618yds and 8tds with Tebow as his QB. DT was the 22nd overall pick and most football savvy guys predicted him to be a break out player before PM got there. Did PM help their development and improve them? No doubt, but stop acting like they are scrubs.

You're being a bit hard on Welker. He has missed two full games and part of two others due to concussions. He probably won't be back prior to the playoffs. Without that downtime, he probably would have close to 90 receptions right now.

The Manning v Brady stuff gets old. Obviously there is a reason why Peyton Manning has excelled at every level, with every team he was on, and Tom Brady has only been truly exceptional when coached by Bill Belichick. I mean, come on, Brady never even made 1st team Big Ten while he was at Michigan.

Furthermore, Brady was "a backup quarterback for his first two years . . . When he enrolled at Michigan, Brady was seventh on the depth chart and had an intense struggle to get some playing time. At one point, Brady hired a sports psychologist to help him cope with frustration and anxiety and even considered transferring to Cal" (Tom Brady - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). That certainly helps to explain why he was not drafted until the sixth round.

I would love for brady to play on another team to see how he would make the transition. Im just saying, Brady is a great quarterback, I just think peyton manning is a better quarterback.

That would be interesting to see, though it'll never happen.
