I think if PM was a Patriot him and the hoody would clash personally. He needs a coach that gives him complete freedom.

It's happened but not the norm. Linemen don't throw td's or completions or int's

But they block and give the QB time to throw. My point is, stats are a team effort as well, they aren't completely individual. Example Barry>>>Emmitt but Emmitts numbers are better. If Barry had better teammates his numbers be untouchable.

I just got done looking at some statistics and records and currently Peyton is a 483 touchdown passes, only 25 away from beating favre to be number 1. Peyton is currently at 64,296 passing yards and favre had 71,838. Peyton is on the tail of favre and will soon be the best quarterback to ever step foot on the field. I know this may be a little off topic to this forum just wanted to let everyone know just how close he is to being the best. thanks

No question of Pey's stats and being the best in the making on that account. But best QB ever? Love my Vols but highly question that label. Pey has a history of choking during playoffs, except that one Super Bowl. He's all but perfectly perfect during the season then makes mistakes he hasn't all year long. However, he's one darn fine QB. It's my understanding that Denver didn't really have elite WRs when Peyton got there. But he made adequate WRs high performance via being what has to be called a player-coach and insisting on serious on and off season work ethic to mesh the battery of Peyton and whoever he was throwing to. He's also an administrator in that he works with the decision makers to bring in more weapons like Wes Welker to enhance the team. So in that sense he's the first and best team-centric QB ever.

He's got to have a track record similar to Bart Starr,
Troy Aikman, and Terry Bradshaw to be the best championship QB. If his health holds up, I have no doubt he will end up doing just that. OK, let the hating begin.

So QBs block for themselves and catch the passes they throw?

Actually, the guy has a point:

We've had QBs on bad teams who performed individually well despite not having the kind of support around them to win it all. Roger the dodger Staubach, Fran the scram Tarekton, Dan Marino, and a for a period, Y.A. Title. The stats were there but the championships were not.

keep in mind almost every year Peyton's defenses have been bad... the only year he played with top 10 D he won it all.
he knows every time he steps on field he has to put up 28 in order to have a shot... yep, Denver's D gives up 27.4 ppg... may have gone down with the 13 yesterday.
bottom line.,

This is a great point. You can't really look at wins and losses, because it's a team sport. You can't look at individual statistics, because the team has to help you get there. I think you have to look at the things that don't show up in a stat book. For that reason, it's hard not to think Peyton is the best ever. The guy is not only playing quarterback, but is also the team's offensive coordinator. He stays after practice and makes his teammates get something right before they can leave. He's a football-holic. That big head of his is full of football knowledge.

Montana might have been the same way, but the game has evolved since Montana, and Peyton is normally 2 or 3 steps ahead of any defense.

Statistically the best, easily...

Game on the line, tight situation, not even close to the best.

It isn't being ugly, it's just the truth.

If he chokes this year in the playoffs it will be because his defense sucks nuts. And that's that's the reason why he has only been to the super bowl once because his defense always sucks arse.

funny that it always seems to be about his defense, and never his picks or overthrown passes.

interesting.
