Darby and Striplin were starters. Puckett played quite a bit. I don’t understand what overstuffed roster means.
If we have six open scholarships, how do you want to use them?
6? With Wells we now have 11 if Powell stays. One more portal player possibly 2 is all we need. We don't need 17 .

If we take five more players our early season will be just as bad or worse than last year. I hope we learned a lesson about an overstuffed roster as well as a murderous early schedule.
I think we will keep a pretty full roster in the future, after learning a lesson from last year, when we lost 4 players to injury, and had to play Freshmen.

Our schedule next season should be interesting, although I doubt Kellie would ever schedule the kind of cream puff out of conference schedule that Kim did.

U can say what u want about Kim but she’s in the final four while we are sitting at home.

Her lowest scoring games and most notably, lowest shooting percentages were against some of the better competition. Which is like, duh, of course it's harder against better teams. But this player seems to be constantly improving plus she's never had teammates like she's about to have. So reasonable to think she will step that level of performance up.

She's such a logical fit and this feels right. I'm delighted it happened so quickly. I know her coach is upset, and it that the is tough that the best mid major players get taken. But if the Belmont coach got a P5 job offer, I bet he'd be all over it.
Tess is in last class who has covid year. Sara class does not. If Jackson ,wells, key can score 10 plus per game that help darby . darby has hard time scoring when other team keying on tess three point shoting and only worrying about two others. tess needs work on making threes vs better guards. tess not beening ask to be one of tenn main three score should help her and the team. i know tess might not start next year but if tenn wins not a bad thing

I'm not exactly sure how ESPN came to that conclusion. Here's how Wells did against NET top 50 teams this year:
  • Louisville: 20 points, 7-10 FGs, 1-1 3FGs, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 turnovers
  • MTSU: 5 points, 2-3 FGs, 1-1 3FGs, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 turnovers
  • Iowa: 9 points, 4-17 FGs, 0-4 3FGs, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 turnovers
  • Villanova: 16 points, 5-10 FGs, 1-2 3FGs, 1 rebound, 3 assists, 7 turnovers
  • Georgia: 12 points, 3-7 FGs, 3-7 3FGs, 2 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 turnovers
She had a rough shooting night against Iowa and turned the ball over against Villanova. Otherwise, this looks pretty darn solid to me. That's 45% shooting and 40% 3pt. shooting with a 1.4 A/TO ratio against some really good teams.

anyone know her stats when she played against the lvs now two years ago?

optimism is great but we have several necessary improvements to make before we join ranks of the big girls
I was just thinking this! I remember how excited we all were last year when we got all our shiny new toys, and look how the season turned out! 😩😂

Nevertheless, Wells is an insane upgrade from Walker. I’m glad she’s here! I just hope she doesn’t come here and her game disappears, similar to Powell.

That’s all about coaching and putting your players in the right situation to succeed. Play to the teams/players strengths.

When it is all said and done, yes, my guess is that around six from this photo will leave.

Jesse, Jordy, Amber, Marta, Jaz, plus at least one more. Probably one or two who saw limited playing time...(from front row maybe?)

Who knows...?

Knock me over with a feather. Kellie finally got a guard who can actually shoot
I guess she is waking up after what VTECH did to them.. Guards like this wins championships with the 3-point shot. Now lets see if Kellie will let her play her game.
We need 2 more like her plus a big one to control the rim.
