How did kiffin sweep anything under the rug? I'm pretty sure 2 are gone out of 3 and all jackson is guilty of is hanging out with the wrong people.

Out of touch with 17 and 18 year olds? I'm 22 I don't think that much has changed in 4 years. And I'm not sure sending the message to our teenagers that smoking pot and riding around drinking is the message we need to be sending. Plus it's not like Tyler Smith is a teenager anyway he is older than I am! GROW UP!! I can see parents sitting at home with their star athlete son saying if this is what my son is going to be doing at UT thier is no way he is going their to get threw in jail. If I'm Pear I say thanks I'll take my 10 or however many players who are dedicated to this team and university and forget those who had rather act like idiots.

In both sports in one year we now have 7 NCAA infractions, one huge ongoing recruiting scandal, 7 arrest, DUI'S, Weapons charges, illegal weapons charges, possession of controlled substances(drugs), and a coach that praises and gets praised on NCAA rules violations. Here are the other schools -- Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, Southern Cal, Michigan, Georgia...... and on and on and on.

I would love to go on and on educating you, but I have a Rose Bowl second half to watch. Plus, take some responsibility and educate yourself.

Just broke on CBS Sports that Pearl is suspending all four indefinetly. So much for Wise- Vol's argument I guess.

If misdemeanors are dismissable offenses, we need to give back our 1998 national title in football and a lot of wins in the two major sports (as well as other schools) because we haven't been following the appropriate punishment standards for a long, long time and neither has anyone else in Division 1. I'd guess there is something close to 300 or more misdemeanors committed in the SEC by athletes in the last 10 years.

Time to get real. It has nothing to do with being a Homer and everything to do with being practical and level-headed.

I'm sorry, but the "everyone else is doing it, so it's ok" argument is a joke in instances like this. There are rules and guidelines set in place that strictly prohibit this behavior, let alone the fact that these things are AGAINST THE LAW. You cannot, I repeat, cannot run a program where you let stuff like this slide because if you do, the NCAA will come in and penalize the hell out of us. This kind of behavior ruins teams and programs dude.

I don't care what anyone says, Jackson should have been gone. And if not, he should have been gone for the rest of the year. He came back, IMMEDIATELY because he needed him. Kiffin is going to end up in serious trouble if he does not get his mouth, and actions in check. I am one of these fans who wants it done right and clean and with class. We have 1 coach who does that and her name is Summit. Kiffin has conducted himself like a spoiled punk kid since he got here. Bruce has 0 class and 0 discipline of players. Fix it.

A question -- could indefinitely mean 1 day? How bout 1 game? How bout 7 hours?

Of course Pearl is suspending them indefinitely. Where did I say he wouldn't do that. Unlike our Weeping Wandas, he's going to get all the facts first.

What argument? The argument that this is ok because "80% of college athletes do stuff like this"? The argument that this is no big deal even though these things were illegal. I didn't see him making any argument, at least one that made any sense.

If something turns up with this recruiting scandal that is under way, and this with the basketball team sticks, YES, the NCAA can come down and they will. Everyone will see what I have been saying. Kiffin is going to be more trouble than he is worth. Calling out people high up and acting like an ass are going to catch up. Wait and see.

How you can turn that into the above nonsense is curious.

This is a problem and things are building for a bad day in hell for us. Kiffin and his mouth and infractions and pearl and his no discipline policy. We have our day coming and it could be soon. Slive is waiting for us to screw up and when we do, we are going to see something major go down. Would murder be a problem for you? Because it seems anything short of that you think is ok.

All I said is that you don't kick players off your team for misdemeanors, especially first time issues like this if what Rob Lewis is reporting is true.

We have some serious reading comprehension challenges with some of our fans.

I have stood behind him. And will continue to do so. But, he does not seem to get it. You do NOT, under any circumstances, call out and make a fool of people who can destroy you. What he is doing is almost suicide. People on here just don't get it. they will.

You basically equated this as being no big deal since "80% of college athletes" smoke weed. That is tantamount to using the childish argument that since "everyone" does it, it is ok. Am I wrong?

The reason things like this still happen is because the players are never held accountable for their actions.A mild suspension will not get their attention nor the other players attention.Make a statement now and wave good bye to them as they leave Knoxville.

My stance on pearl around here has been documented. If indeed there is a felony involved I will have a major problem if any person who received one ever plays again.
