Please DON'T start Nico [Nico merged]

Given where we are currently, we don't need the best. We could can Martinez, make a lateral move by hiring a homeless crackhead off the street, pay them minimum wage and save a bunch of coin. Or we could hire any active FBS coach of any position and it would be a big upgrade. Martinez...the guy stinks. He been stankin' a long time and he still stink.

Is a mobile shifty QB who's not afraid to take off and try to win games by zny means possible.

Milton might as well be Peyton back there. He can fly when he wants to but he always ignores wide open lanes. It would really help open up our offense and running game.

I say try Nico this game. Before you tell me oh he's skinny... he's a freshman. Please just stop. Tyler Bray was scrawny as a true freshman and lit it up behind a poor line.

Dobbs came in against a monster of a Bama defense and instantly balled out.

You could clearly see both of their "it" factors as soon as a few plays happened. I've yet to ever see this in Milton.

And that performance against AP was one of the worst I've ever seen out of a starting QB for Tennessee. It sas easily up there with some of JG's eggs.

We have nothing to lose guys. Our offense desperately needs a spark.

Cure is probably too strong a word, a weak o-line is pretty hard to scheme around. A mobile QB has a bit more of a fighting chance than a statue it's true, but I'd rather have a total game manager behind a good OL than a dual threat guy behind a crappy one.

Have you tried laxatives?

We know for a fact Milton in this offense is bad right now.

A true freshman Dobbs level of QB would be a massive upgrade. I'm not saying Nico is Dobbs or Hooker but the fact of the matter is he was the highest eated recruit of the three by far and we really don't know how he will play until he gets kut there. We really don't.

Nico needs to build his body. Dude got knicked up in the UVA game and noone even seen him get hit. Let that sink in.

BS. Tyler Bray was a toothpick as a true freshman and never got injured.

You guys always say the same old tired BS rethoric because you are extremely risk adverse.

Offensive football has evolved. A lot of these freshmen QBs are way ahead of their times now coming out of highschool.

Nico could play and be another Harrison Bailey for all i know. Doesn't matter, we should still try. One or two quarters against UTSA won't hurt.

Truth is we will likely lose if we play like we did against AP and Florida. That AP performance was the worst I've seen us look since the Georgia State loss.

And there is no prayer of Milton beating South Carolina unless we get both starters on the line back by then maybe.

Our backup center has absolutely killed us this year. Him and Hadden.

Milton isn’t the answer. Never was. Never will be. This is the perfect game to get Nico a lot of game experience and see what he can do. We aren’t gonna beat SC or A&M running the offense we’re currently running with Milton.

I’ve advocated for Nico a lot since Saturday. After having some time to ponder on things and simmer down a bit, I don’t think now is the time to make that move. Let’s see what Saturday brings us. This is a golden opportunity for Joe and the offense to get back on track and build some confidence.

If Joe is unimpressive in these next two games, then I think that’s when the Nico discussion becomes real. You’d be headed into a bye week, so that would be an ideal time to make a change.

Let me ask you one simple question.

Would you rather have a freshman version Josh Dobbs in this offense or Joe Milton?

Who's to say Nico couldn't be a breakout freshman sensation like Dobbs or Bray or even Trevor Lawrence?

It's just utterly retarded to say hur durrr....we can't try Nico because he's a freshman and freshman get hurt easily. Freshmen make too many mistakes.

It's like STFU......you really don't know until you try. For the love of god. You same people are part of the reason we were stuck with JG at QB for what seemed like a freaking decade.

I agree with you. I've said all along if we lose to UF just start Nico and play for next year. You think Milton is going to play lights out at Bama after what we just watched? No. Bama will smoke us. We aren't a playoff team. Get Nico reps. I'd rather get him reps against UTSA than see Milton get hurt at Bama or vs UGA and get thrown to the wolves. Nico is the future. We are NOT a playoff team. Play for the future. And you are spot on about Dobbs and Bray having the obvious "it" factor. We need to see if Nico has it and if he does, let it grow.

The same people who say we can't play Nico are the same ones who were ardent JG supporters. I can almost guarantee you that.

Milton will have a decent game this week but we are playing another glorified high school team that will probably make it interesting. I am not looking forward to the next games.
