I just saw the video from the passenger side of the car where he fights off the officers and gets up. What options were left to the police at that point assuming they had already used what non lethal weapons they had? If they would have let him go would they/the dept be liable should he have hurt his kids or someone else?

I've given you an avenue to walk down and explain how this situation should have been handled. Even given you plenty of time to think on the matter, a luxury that police did not have. However, it appears that you would rather sit back and call everyone racists instead of open discussion.

The only reasons some departments don't have them are because lawyers and activist groups threatened to sue out of "privacy concerns" OR more common, they cost too much

What I cannot understand is why cops don’t go on strike to force the politicians hands. Politicians only have 1 power and that is to control how government revenue is spent and the police are the only resource the government has to collect revenue. Go on strike until they get you the cameras.

He had his back to them. There were two right behind that open door with him. Pull him backward. If your only solution is to shoot him 7 times in the back your coImmunity is really lucky you are no longer on that police force. I’m wondering why you really left with the attitude you display

Most employees (cops or otherwise) typically are barely living paycheck to paycheck.... They are too worried about making it then to take a stand for something.
