Police shooting black man in the back ... again (Kenosha, WI)

Nope. Been given some bs tickets by cops needing to make quotas before though so the idea isnt completely foreign.

I can think beyond myself and remember that in America we are supposed to be free people not owing justification to the cops for our every action.

It's your type of attitude that lead us to where we are. Instead of seeing a way to make our country, city, cops better you see it as an attack.
My type of attitude? I see this attack on our country and see nothing but hate for it, apparently you see it as a new way of life. I'm sorry but you have nothing to offer our country other than hate and vitriol.

What if this guy decided that he wanted some crap from your house? Would you just let him in and let him go shopping? Offer up your wife or daughter? Or maybe if you had some balls, blow him away?
I'm sick of you liberals deciding that everyone is a loving soul just trying to make a life while they rape and pillage. Heaven help anyone that rapes or pillages my family.

Pump your brakes Rambo, I probably own more guns than you. We're talking about law enforcement blasting away as a first option. But way to stir up the peanut gallery with your wife rape conflation of an argument that literally no one but you inserted into the discussion.

Horse Shat and proven by the videos.

LMAO "first option"? guess you missed the 5 other uses of force the officers did on the use of force continuum?

Did you even read the text associated with what appears to be a 4chan post?

You keep saying this BS, but it's not reality. An example of a use-of-force continuum follows:

  • Officer Presence — No force is used. Considered the best way to resolve a situation.
    • The mere presence of a law enforcement officer works to deter crime or diffuse a situation.
    • Officers' attitudes are professional and nonthreatening.
  • Verbalization — Force is not-physical.
    • Officers issue calm, nonthreatening commands, such as "Let me see your identification and registration."
    • Officers may increase their volume and shorten commands in an attempt to gain compliance. Short commands might include "Stop," or "Don't move."
  • Empty-Hand Control — Officers use bodily force to gain control of a situation.
    • Soft technique. Officers use grabs, holds and joint locks to restrain an individual.
    • Hard technique. Officers use punches and kicks to restrain an individual.
  • Less-Lethal Methods — Officers use less-lethal technologies to gain control of a situation.
    • Blunt impact. Officers may use a baton or projectile to immobilize a combative person.
    • Chemical. Officers may use chemical sprays or projectiles embedded with chemicals to restrain an individual (e.g., pepper spray).
    • Conducted Energy Devices (CEDs). Officers may use CEDs to immobilize an individual. CEDs discharge a high-voltage, low-amperage jolt of electricity at a distance.
  • Lethal Force — Officers use lethal weapons to gain control of a situation. Should only be used if a suspect poses a serious threat to the officer or another individual.
    • Officers use deadly weapons such as firearms to stop an individual's actions.

The officers literally tried EVERY use of force continuum there was before shooting him

I'm not talking about the video, I'm talking about the context of the response by the 4chan moron who was offering commentary on it. Keep up.

See above, you're hung up on the video. My response was regarding the posters justification of the acceptability of a shoot first mantra.

Did you even read the text associated with what appears to be a 4chan post?
Yes and he is correct in terms of Graham vs Connor...once you can articulate the fact that officers were reasonably objective to assume that the facts leading up to the shooting was that the suspect was a danger to them and others and they had a reasonable fear of imminent danger.

Doing 5-6 responses on the use of force continuum and then resorting to lethal force isn't "a shoot first mantra".

you shouldnt physically grab, push, "brush", or anything to an officer... and "shift your weight while in cuffs" sounds vague or excuse-worthy.

I have never seen someone arrested for "questioning why you are being arrested" unless it was something like during a pat-down, turning around and swinging arms or screaming and yelling and cussing in a disorderly manner.
Friend was on the ground handcuffed, cop had a foot on his shoulder. Friend shifted weight because he said he was laying on a rock. That caused the cop to take a step back and he was found guilty via video for resisting arrest. Cop didnt even fall down, just mildly inconvenienced him. The video was used by the defense to show how little my friend did. Didnt matter, that was interfering and video proof of resisting. And that was the only charge he was arrested for, and it took him about 5 years to clear his record after the fact and get life somewhat back to normal.

Again the questioning was caught on video. Cops were questioning my friend and her BF. She asked why they were being detained, cop tells her she is now under arrest for resisting arrest. They end up also getting her with a DUI even though she hadnt entered the car, and was well under the legal limit and had no intention of driving. She told me she only had one drink about an hour before and she was grabbing stuff from her car to stay with her BF nearby for the night. I sat in the court room with her on that. So dont try passing it off.

Dude.

You're hung up on the video, my comment was about the posters response. I really don't know how else to dumb those words down any more.

You're probably a McCloskey family member. To be honest, I'm sick and tired of people placing a drug addict black man on a pedestal because he acted like an idiot and got shot. I think the man was an idiot and deserved what happened to him. Does it deserve a riot and burning down a city?

Maybe don't insert yourself into conversations midstream without doing your homework then?

Maybe don't be a DICK and reference your posts better. You made a false statement on its surface. (I probably have more posts in this thread than you.)

No need for name calling, you're the one who swerved out of your lane. Do better, friend.

So now we know why you're pissed at cops. I can't blame you, I've had bad interactions with them too.

In my mid twenties you could have picked two friends and i would guarantee you couldn't subdue me with anything less than what's considered excessive force. If I wanted to get away from you I could have. It happens, take your hindsight cape off superhero.

Hindsight has been the basis for much of the dialogue justifying why Blake deserved to be shot. Hindsight and rationalization are apparent synonyms for this particular case

Did I place him on a pedestal or otherwise support the BLM movement? Or are you just lashing out because I think cheering for cops to shoot first (like the 4 chan poster implied}) and ask questions later is absurd?

Hate is wanting to get better? Hate is not wanting someone to get shot?

Find anywhere where I am questioning the cops doing their job. I havent asked why they were there. Why they had previously taken him to the ground or razed him. I am questioning why they didnt do more to NOT shoot someone when they had the chance. I have no idea how that is hate.

In "my world" it's a safer place for all. The cops, the civilians nearby, the perp, etc. If we CAN reasonably do better we should do better. I think there was room to do better in this situation. You are the one refusing to take any look at the matter and are just accepting any use of force by cops.
