This. Everyone knows Biden is a terrible candidate, but he can beat Trump. If Republicans just put someone up that's half decent, they will win. Instead they'll be all in on Trump and cry fraud when he loses again. For another 4 years. Hell they'll both probably be dead in 5 years

The R next to the name means nothing to me and hasn’t since bush. I would take Clinton and newt combo over any other trash option we have had since.

You're right, though. We're not electing a pope. Kennedy's blatant misogyny doesn't to matter to the legions of acolytes who worship him to this day. Nobody really cared about Eisenhower's as or Patton's religious bonafides. They just wanted the Axis powers defeated.

As the old saying goes, "You don't hire a choirboy to beat back the barbarians."

(That said, I didn't trust Trump in 2016 precisely because I didn't trust him to deliver due to his character).
