He’s obviously a good player to produce the numbers he did in D1 as a freshman, but I do think he’s a little overrated and the overall stat line doesn’t look quite as good when there’s context thereMakes me wonder how good he really is if the school he wants to go to doesn't want him. Hopefully LSU doesn't recruit at that much of a higher level than everyone else?
Well they’re penciling in a kid who hasn’t taken a single AB or played a single inning at SS in college over taking this guy. They think Guidry is really good, but that kind of shows you this Hill kid isn’t the no brainer starter a lot of people seem to think he isLSU has depth. Guidry is penciled in as the starter is my understanding. I think it's more a reflection of that depth than Hill's ability or lack thereof
Also just keep your eyes open the rest of today and tomorrow. How these on campus visits work is V and staff put the entire full court press and he’s a hard guy to say no to from what I’ve heard. They’ll definitely be trying to get him to not even go to Starkville and BR.Still on campus. Imagine you’ll hear more tonight. He did decide to squeeze in Starkville between knoxville and Baton Rouge
I’d bet he goes to those 3 only, and stay tuned towards the end of the week
Exactly - it’s not dissimilar to our situation. They don’t have a proven SS, but they’ve got multiple options they feel are more talented. So I’m sure they would have taken him just like we would have, but he’s going to where he knows he’s going to start. LSU and TN were not a place he was guaranteed toThey have a couple of freshmen coming in too
Holman will arrive in Knoxville later today to begin his visit with Tennessee tomorrow. Then he's headed to Mississippi State and then to LSU, and possibly others — if it lasts that long. Holman has strongly considered UT since he jumped in the portal and nothing has changed in that sense. I get the feeling that he loves the idea of filling the shoes of Chase Burns. Holman/Daddy Holman have built a great relationship with Vitello/Frank during this process. It could prove to be what gets UT over the hump. We'll see how the week goes.
