They would likely pull it from a freshmen and double them up money wise next year. Those “deals” Are done all the time with the draft uncertainties and now portal uncertainties

Because you make us Tennessee fans (not that you’d know anything about that) look bad when you post that crap on our board. He was playing both ways at Air Force. So he was able to focus soley to pitching once he got to LSU. Not only that, but after transferring, he didn’t have focus on certain things that are made 1st and foremost at service academies. Sports are never ever going to be the most important things at those institutions and for good reason. There is a reason he was so highly regarded as a transfer, and once he was able to focus most of his time and effort on pitching it played out like it did.

I don’t mind portal, it’s out of my control so no need worrying with it. But Vols have enough good arms who I want to ride with and I don’t want anyone from Bama. Yeah I know Denton worked out but he is a Tennessee kid who was coming home. Holman is some random kid who started at Bama. And it’s not like he’s chase Burns and some can’t miss ace. I hope he goes somewhere else. I know you can never have enough arms but ……..

Solid chance you are. One thing you are forgetting. It’s all about winning. What it boils down too. Coaches gotta do what gives them best chance to win or they gone simple as that. Adding Holman (could be 1st round pick btw) is about winning. Tv and staff would not have pursued if he thought the team was set. He knows it’s not and he doing what gonna help this team win at an Elite level.

You make great points and reasons for a significant jump …. I agree

imo it’s still a little too big of a Jump to totally take the juice out of question


I hate LSU and I Hate their coach. I don’t want his ass getting any credit for signing the best FA guys every year

Good points for sure. I definitely do not fault the coaches for getting the best talent, and I would not expect CTV to care where that talent comes from. So maybe I should not care either.

And you hit it on it’s all about winning. We all have our opinions about this and that and almost all those opinions go away so long as our team wins. Y’all know if Holman comes to Tennessee and shows out I’m going to be as big of fan as anyone…….cause to your point winning cures all.

Dislike LSU all you want but the guy was sitting mid 90s in HS. He was 1st team All American his freshman year at AF. Won Jon Olerud award as a sophomore. LSU just brought him a big stage. His jump wasn't overnight.

Just heard it was a factor/worry with some orgs in the draft

Of course since he went 1-1 and got the biggest bonus is history it wasn’t a factor with the pirates.

So if his stuff stays up like this past year it’s clear it wasn’t juice. Something to follow into

I’m not a journalist I don’t need to follow their protocol(heck they ain’t got one now anyways)
I posted what I’ve heard just like when I posted I heard Dickey was getting more than a half million which was proven correct today. Maybe just maybe a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then

I can’t hold it against a kid for realizing how much Bama sucks and deciding to transfer to UT… like I always say, the best thing about Alabama is seeing it in the rear view mirror from Tennessee.

Denton came here from Bama and that worked out pretty well.

Holman is the first guy LSU has wanted that I think they might not get from us.

Anyone that has followed the mlb draft two or three years knew Dickey was gonna be signed well over slot. Accepting a huge credit for attempting to appear you are the only one that understood that is asinine.

Yes, I’ve heard the rumors about Skenes. They’re rumors…About a guy in the Pirates organization. Don’t really care or put any stock in rumors.
