AP said this morning that Daune Morris has already flashed in the couple days of practice. He was asked who stood out so far among the EEs and said the coaches noticed Morris talent immediately.

Is Justin Baker not an EE...or is Morris just further along right now at RB? They look like similar backs to me on tape. Both are shifty...quick...and fast.

Baker is not on campus yet.

I’ve been pumping the Morris hype train since way before we flipped him. Kid is electric.

That said, he and Baker are different styles. Baker reminds me a lot of John Kelly. Good vision, smooth through the LOS, makes good cuts. Morris reminds me more of an Isiah Pacheco. He’s lightning quick and very versatile. He’d make a great slot if he weren’t a RB.

Do you know if the EEs are allowed to travel with the team? I realize there's probably a roster limit for each team in the playoffs. I vaguely remember Jason Allen practicing with the team at the bowl game site back in the day. Also wondering if an EE could play and not lose a year of eligibility.

They can’t play. Not sure about travel, but I don’t think so.

Definitely on 1st and therefore no way you put them on the travel roster instead of someone you might actually need to play.

I'm assuming they probably leave a S&C coach behind to whip their asses into shape.

Nico traveled for the Orange Bowl a couple years ago. I’m pretty sure they can, just can’t dress out in full pads

According to Patrick Brown, there is no roster limit for the playoffs so all the EEs can go to Columbus. But they cannot participate.

Yes they do! EE’s in town over bowl practice was a favorite time for me. Get the youngins in before they become too corrupted by college life. It was a critical time for the Thornton Center to get them set up to be successful in academic balance. Habit building and such. It was a rare time we got them without coaches and football so present.

But to your question yes S&C staffers remain behind to keep a regimen. Good gig for a young analyst.
