Guess wewill know in a few hours if MM is In or Out as admin has 48 hours from Sunday evening to submit..if not In, then we will know he rescinded his submission.

AP reported that the MM 48 hour clock didn't start until the staff was able to show MM an informational video about entering the portal. None of us know when that happened. Probably wasn't Sunday night. So AP said we may not get a YES/NO from MM until later in the week due to the holiday.

Also, it would make the most sense for MM to wait until the last minute before declaring one way or the other. The longer he waits, the more offers he could receive via back channels. So IMO he will wait until the staff tells him the 48 hours is up and they have to enter him in the portal. At that point he will declare one way or the other.

that is a sorry excuse. literally tell a kid he needs to know a package of 4 plays, and then ease him along further as the year progresses

coaches have to coach.
if that means finding one thing that a player is great at then utilizing that one thing to the teams advantage., its what needs to be done.
especially as the year goes on and the position grouo has shown next to nothing, its time to nurture the new guys

Maybe he didn’t do it to exert pressure but the timing of when he requested paperwork was about as late as possible. There was no way losing a talent like MM would have been easy regardless but the timing of it was terrible. Any decent options at wr that were in the portal were already gone. More/better talent may enter the portal. His reasons for requesting paperwork had to do with Nico supposedly; Nico isn’t leaving, never entered the portal/nothing.

Ramon Foster said NFL ppl are also questioning him about our WR development, also supporting the validity of my OG question.

Not sure what points I have ignored. But I do agree with certain points because I believe in Huepel and hope he does what it takes to fix the WR room. However, there are logical concerns. I think the whole situation has put Huepel in a tough spot, and I do not envy him.

I thought I had been pretty clear all along, but maybe not. Should you still feel that my original question was illogical handwringing, I hope the summary above helps. However, I imagine you might still attempt to rebut with anecdotal evidence about the movie Twister and word salad like “appeals to authority,” etc.

So.., Again... If part of your argument about WRs being a concern was Nico's supposed contemplation of leaving b/c of it, why is he staying? To stay consistent in your logic, that should tell you that WR is no longer a concern for him?

You asked how we can expect to get replacements if we see large #s of our recruits leaving, when we got replacements after large numbers left last year. That's like asking how we can expect the sun to come out after a rain storm, while the sun is shining after the last rain storm.

Since Ramone is your only argument, watch the video.

He's literally asking AP what the state of the portal is, which is kind of indicative that he doesn't know as much as you assume he does. AP's answers basically parrot what I've heard from him, and the rest of that crew: "It's a new world. No need to panic right now. We just need to wait and see how it works out, and it worked out when the same thing happened last year with the secondary."

What I’ve heard from an agent friend:
- MM got bumped from $500k to $800k
- The receivers did not like Pope, leading to some of the transfer attrition
- Pope is out
- MM will return

That’s all I’ve heard

AP alluded to the WR/Pope issues being a source of that room clearing. His comment was basically, Who likes their position coach when they can't break the starting lineup?

The portal ended Dec 28,so he had to submit it to the school by then. UT is on the clock, or the clock has expired.

Again, the fact Nico is staying is not the point. The fact that QB1 and fam were so concerned they had to have a meeting is the point. If QB1 is concerned, is it so crazy or illogical for a casual fan to be concerned.

Talking about ignoring points. First off, Ramone wasn’t my only argument. Secondly, he clearly said in that clip that NFL ppl had expressed concerns to him about WR development. I watched the whole video, and there nothing really said to ease my concerns about the WR room other than to say they will be trying to get multiple guys in the portal.

I don’t think anybody’s concerns about the WR room will truly be answered until the fall. And trying to act like anything in that video answers anyone’s concerns about the WR room is pretzel logic.

I hope Huepel fixes this. I really do. I think he has done an amazing job, and if he can fix the WR situation, he will have done an amazing job at that. However, pretending that concerns about the WR room are crazy, short-sighted, illogical, etc is nothing short of whistling past the graveyard. Worse, it’s gaslighting to win an argument. How anyone can look at what I laid out in the previous post and not admit that there are concerns about the WR situation blows my mind until you consider that it would mean conceding an argument.

Believe me man, I am far from the only one with unanswered questions. It’s not crazy, short-sighted, or illogical to be concerned.

1. So, AGAIN! Consistent logic should be that, if NICO was enough to CAUSE concerns, his staying should alleviate them. In that, he must have heard something that caused him to stay. THAT is the point, and you consistently ignore it. Hell, I would argue that the reports of his concerns, if true... His staying should ALLAY those initial concerns.

But you don't seem to want to deal with that point. So, to answer your question: Yes. Yes, it is illogical for the casual fan to use it as a cause for concern after Nico's concerns were allayed enough to stay.

2. It's no surprise that you didn't hear anything to alleviate your concerns, you appear to hear what you want, and ignore anything that may alleviate them.

3. The point of bringing up the video was that your prophet doesn't seem to know as much as you claimed, as he was ASKING AP, who is consistently taking a "No need to panic, the fanbase just needs to settle down and let this play out" stance.

As a matter of fact, the VQ crew, in their video today, specifically stated that the fanbases haven't yet gotten used to this new world of NIL/Portal and are pretty severely overreacting. They state "we" (read, "you") need to settle down, relax a little, and just get used to the bumpy ride of the new era.

Again. Switch to decaf and develop some patience before asking whether the staff can do their jobs with success. (And that's the issue folks have taken with you.)

"Sorry Mike but we seem to have misplaced, or possibly accidentally burned, that informational video about entering the portal. We can request a new one from the NCAA but they have a backlog of approximately a year".

I'm confused as to why you think a transfer WR will contribute year 1. There hasn't been 1 transfer or freshman WR to contribute in their 1st year. I think yall are setting yourselves up for disappointment. Unless CJH tweaks the offensive router audibles.
