You are welcome to list an established, sought after difference maker we have signed out of the portal. We have signed a handful of players out of the portal that have turned out to be pretty good contributions like Brazzell, Thornton, McCoy, and Milton on offense but they weren’t highly sought after comparatively:
McCoy 88th overall
Thornton 65th
Brazzell 84th
Milton 111th

How many of these CBs ranked above McCoy in the portal do you wish we pursued bc they were higher ranked?

Do they have any interest in Bryce Lance? Seems like a solid player that could provide some veteran leadership to the room now that it’s so underclassmen-heavy.

I’m less concerned with how “sought after” a player is than how good he is.

I don’t care if Jermod McCoy was the 18th ranked portal CB or whatever. He’s an All American. So it looks like our staff evaluated him well and got a less “sought after” player for a lower price and he turned out to be elite.

Norman-Lott did the same thing. So did McCallan Castles.

Some of y’all are so caught up with rankings and how sought after a player is, that you lose sight of the point…getting good players. This staff has done that.

This is nonsense. There should be asterisks next to Oregon's B1G Championship and Ohio State's National Championship(if they win it) clearly pointing out that Dillon Gabriel was #77 and Will Howard #41 in their portal class.

If that's what he's appealing, then why would anybody expect him to win? Isn't the rule pretty clearly stated as playing in 4 games (not 5)?

Medical redshirts are designed to allow a player another year when a typical redshirt doesn't apply, due to an injury.

I'm not saying he will or will not win, but there is an appeals process for a reason. And the basis of the appeal is his injury.

The highest rated one on that list is in the portal again if anyone still wants him. He was last on the team in PFF grade

And you can be assured that he cost a lot more than McCoy did.

But he's highly sought after, therefore, it would have been better to get him at a much higher price than to get McCoy at a lower price and have him make All American. Er something like that.

Terrell Anderson, NC State kid we had 'em on campus for a visit and he's likely not happy with the situation there. If he enters the portal in the Spring window I think he could be a guy we're looking at.

Carnell Tate, Ohio State not sure I see this one but with Smith emerging as the #1 threat he might be looking around, especially since Howard is gone. Can enter the portal soon as Ohio State's season ends
