I know Boo playing offense was probably part of his deal after the season. However, I’ll believe that when I see it. If anything, it may be some special package used in certain situations. I don’t think you can count him as an everyday receiver. He would never come off the field basically. Receiver, punt returner, DB.

He'll take snaps at WR, too. That means he'll be part of both position groups.
But I've also said I fully expect we'll take another WR. I just don't think it's a "need". It's a luxury. And depending on Spring camp, it could potentially push Brazzell or Staley into the Spring portal. There's one ball, and everyone wants it.

He wants to be like Travis Hunter, which is what Deion was selling him to try and get him to transfer.

I get that. I just have a hard time seeing the staff following through with it. I doubt they count him as a receiver when looking at that room.
If being "used" more like Hunter is part of the deal, and CJH doesn't follow thru............then does Boo just say, "screw it. I'm out" during the middle of the season?

Risky!

He'd be top notch in this 2025 UT WR room. Dude is the 3rd leading receiver at OSU, and his stats would've made him the leader at UT in receptions, 51 yards shy of the team lead in yards, and tied for 2nd most TDs. He was also a 5-star coming out of high school and has largely looked like one, albeit one who was somewhat raw but has started coming into his own this year.

He may not be "top notch" in comparison to every WR in the country, but he'd almost certainly be WR1 here.

I don’t disagree that he’d be our best WR, and quite easily. But when I hear top notch I expect one of the best in the country that’s all. I’d be happy with him, he’s a good WR for sure.

Former 5 star prospect. Finished with 47 catches and 611 yards while playing 3rd fiddle to Smith and Egbuka. 14.2 ypc. Seems pretty top notch to me. Sorry if that ruins your wet blanket narrative.

That’s not top notch lol thats a good WR. He’s good and can be better. Has the potential to be very good. But up to this point top notch is a crazy stretch. Get outta here with this “wet blanket narrative BS”. Won’t find anyone who liked Tate more coming outta high school than me.

Looking through the portal and saw this kid committed to Cincinnati. Talk about awesome football names.

Doesn’t mean that’s exactly what we sold him on.

I could see him not being on the field full time on O
He won't be out there every play, but no WR will. I expect the majority of snaps will go to MM, Brazzell, and possibly Staley. AJ will get some snaps. And I expect we'll take another WR who will get snaps. And Boo will get snaps. Freshmen might get some mop up duty in a few games but preserve their RS. Unless there's an injury. Then we reshuffle.

I can't believe Dillon Gabriel wasn't number 1 in the portal. Like, did people not watch him in his college career? I don't care if he doesn't have starting NFL level talent, DG can ball. If we didn't have Nico, I would have went all in on DG last off-season.
I can’t believe Oklahoma let him walk to make Arnold their starter who is now playing elsewhere.

Just saw this posted from volreport about 17 hours ago. Picture of Bru, Nico, and MM getting some work done in California. Don't necessarily mean anything but it's definitely something to think about with the possibility of Bru coming back for another year. I think, IMHO, he would help our young receiver core tremendously. An excellent leader and someone to teach our young receivers the ropes. Especially since Pope isn't doing his job. #BringBruBack. Just another note, he could possibly get another year of eligibility due to him having to sit out a year when he first transferred because the rules were different then as opposed to now where you can transfer as much as you want with no penalty. So that would be his argument to the NCAA for an appeal.

They gave everyone a year back in june that had to sit out for transfers as long as you were still a current active player. Bru got a year back for sitting out after the usc texas usc thing.

Bru has been told that his chance of getting an appeal granted is basically 100%. Also it looks like they’re already into the good bud out there.

I wouldn’t be upset if Bru came back, but I think it’s time for a reset of the WR room. He definitely could bring some maturity and leadership to the room, but I think with how much our WR room underachieved last year, I’d like to just see some new blood.

I definitely agree. But I don't think having him back would necessarily hurt our WR room. Like you said, his leadership and knowledge of the college game would only help our young receiving core. Imo, it always helps to have a leader to teach the young ones the in and outs, especially since our WR coach doesn't seem to be getting through to them.

If Bru comes back, I hope he's the type of veteran leader all these young WRs need. His skill set is fine, and he could be a reliable 3rd down guy for us if he stays healthy. But something I heard Swain talk about yesterday that I thought was a good point was who in this WR room do these 1st and 2nd year players have to lead them and tell them "this is how we do it here, this is the work ethic expected of you at UT." Right now it's nobody. Brazzell didn't do enough in 2024 to really earn that type of respect, and idk if he's a true leader or not (not implying he's not, i just haven't heard one way or the other).

If Bru can be that voice, then that alone would make me want him to return. You certainly can't question his toughness and work.
