Lance Heard has experience and was hurt early in the year. We have a 5 star freshman that enrolled early at the other T spot. Bama has been playing those type of guys early for years. We have Moe at a guard spot. We have guys who have been developing and learning the center position. Maybe we need another guard for now, but we have bodies.I truly don't know how anyone can sit there and tell themselves they expect the WRs and OL to make big jumps with Pope & Elarbee.
I noticed you mostly rattled off guys who are coached by the one guy on staff who has shown he can develop players.
Show of hands from anyone who feels optimistic we see noticeable improvements from the QB, WR, & OL positions.
Halzle, Pope, & Elarbee. Enough said. Mickey Mouse offensive coaching staff.
Never said they couldn't get better. I'm just acknowledging this team is losing alot, haven't developed well across entire position groups, and are taking a relaxed approach to the portal. Not sure if you’re aware this or not but teams can get better and no, we’re not in any danger of going back to “mediocrity” like you’re claiming.
If winning 10 games and making the playoffs is considered a downhill tragedy, then maybe you need a better outlook on things.
YepThe ole head in the sand approach. If people complaining on message boards hurt the program, then Tennessee just simply doesn't belong.
To be fair, I have questions about the Joe Moore Award. What criteria are they using to judge OLs? I saw Army won it this year. Seems like a lot of how they judge these lines is by rushing yards. We've established we can run block. But what about pass blocking? Pass blocking has to improve. We have to be able to protect Nico in the pocket. And if we had questions about pass blocking behind a veteran OL, I think it fair to carry those questions over to what will be almost an entirely new OL.Yep
Your exactly right
Fire everyone
Who do you think they hire, realistically?
What oline coach is coming if we fire a coach that has been a finalists for the top oline in the country the last three years….
What we coach is out there, hardline is the best and he’s not coming unfortunately….
Who would be better then coach
I'm just going to pretend you didn't just say all of that lol.Yep

Who would be better than coach halze? Yes there may be some out there but who realistically comes knocking on the door when they know CJH is the OC and a big part of QB coaching
Do some research and answer those questions…. Or keep complaining without answers
I have no answers so I choose to be positive and hope we keep progressing bc honestly we have gotten better
I think pass blocking will improve simply by subtractionTo be fair, I have questions about the Joe Moore Award. What criteria are they using to judge OLs? I saw Army won it this year. Why not do more advertising? I am not behind the scenes but know for a fact other schools advertise more and request $$ from fans.Is there a system set up where fans can donate to help get players? Yes there is. There are currently 4004 memberships of the Volunteer Club. That’s pathetic. How many people are on VN?
Is everyone in this site donating? Highly doubt it. Why not? My view is if you aren’t donating then you shouldn’t be complaining. Why can’t our great fan base kick in more?
Later.I’ll give it a shot, screw it.
Hey I saw your like @99vawl you know something or should I ask again later?
With the 8th best odds our best chance of winning would be adjustments to the offense imo …and I would expect that to happenFor everyone who is stressed out over the transfer portal as of right now and how we are gonna look next year, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, Tennessee has the 8th best odds to win the national championship next year. With that being said, I'd love to have the BEST odds to win it all, but I'll take the 8th best odds to win it all next year especially considering where we were just a few years ago. And also, AP has said that he still thinks we add a couple of transfers going down the home stretch of the transfer window. Which lines up with what the insiders continue to tell us fans about signing a couple more players. We are gonna be just fine!!
I'm telling you guys now, I truly believe in our insiders and our coaching staff and we will end up signing a WR and OL by the end of next week. One more thing to add, I was sitting here thinking about our OLine situation and I believe we are gonna be better than a lot of people think. Think about it, these young guys have went against one of the best DLines in the country everyday for the past year or so. Do you all not think getting whipped up on by Eason, Thomas, Pierce, ONL, etc.is gonna make these guys better?? I can't see why it wouldn't. Even if our OLine coach isn't necessarily the best at developing players, going up against these future NFL DL has to speak for something, imo.Later.
In all seriousness, I know how frustrating it is. Especially when nothing is a slam dunk to come to fruition. The waiting isnt fun for anyone
Oregon did get murdered by OSU just like we did so the jury is still out on whose method will be more effective. I’m not advocating either position, just saying it’s far from certain their method will end up being better. I like retention and few transfers. You like less retention and more transfers. Either can be effective and we will see how it plays out on the field next year. I personally believe fewer transfers can make it easier to manage a locker room and have fewer issues with chemistry. Doesn’t mean I’m right it’s just my opinion from playing for years at a much lower level. It’s the ultimate team sport and chemistry is incredibly important. See FSU for example. Just providing a different perspective.I’m sure someone will comment and say the portal isn’t the answer and then retardedly site Ole Miss as an example.
Oregon has 8 four star transfers currently, all starter quality. They aren’t worried about hurting feelings.
They will be in the playoffs again next season with a team full of transfers. ITS ALL ABOUT WHO YOU CAN GET.
We had a chance with Thompson and Pregnon, but don’t want to pay. It’s crazy.
Pretty much what I had in my head. You just said it more articulately. Some people need to remember these guys all came here to coach with CJH with the university on the brink of major sanctions. CJH will show these people extra loyalty and time as a reward for their taking a chance. This coming recruiting class will be the first where they have had a full year to recruit without any NCAA fear of additional penalties.
With this in mind, if he is not happy, I do believe he will make a change after this coming season.
This is just my opinion.Later.
