'25 Portal Thread

Just curious where we are on the portal? I haven’t heard any booms and it seems slower than last year’s portal pickings. Or am I mistaken?

I can't imagine we would make any big moves in the portal until after the playoffs. You want to avoid losing players that might be getting playing time like Jalen Smith and Nimrod.

Nichols wouldn't be coming here just to compete imo. He was really good at Arkansas. Wherever he goes he's the starting center.

Satterwhite is locked in as the starting center. The coaches are excited about him. That's why I said IF Nichols was welcomed back, then he's going to be playing guard.

It going to take a lot more of situations like this where schools give the kid guaranteed money only to have him leave for there to be real changes with the NIL deals.

I'm not sure why that isn't already the case. Do these schools and collectives not have attorneys?

NIL will settle down. But right now, it's the wild west. At some point, market forces and level-headed contract drafting will prevail. The question is, how long will that take?

Heupel never comes out hot out of the gate, feel like his staff like to really take a deep look at the film before doing anything. Truthfully I'm not seeing a ton out there right now that is all that attractive. Would be nice to get Shaw in the boat soon though
