Potential Coaching Staff Members (list)

Drayton was brought in because of his recruiting abilities but I have not been impressed. His coaching was suspect as well. Our RB's fumbled a lot last year. I think Gran is a definite upgrade.

I am getting excited about this staff. Coach K is putting together a pretty impressive group. I like the new S&C and RB coach. A definite upgrade from what we had.

Auburn tried to use rb's recruiting for power in a spread offense where backs need to be more elusive. You can not deny his track record with Brown, Williams, and Irons.

We have heard that a secondary coach to watch is Darren Perry. Perry is a secondary coach with the Raiders and was hired there by Kiffin from the Steelers.

You guys must've not paid attention to Auburn's backs this year. They fumbled more than ours.

I think you can disregard that one year with all of the problems they had.

Deuce McAllister (At Ole Miss)
Brandon Jacobs
Cadillac Williams
Ronnie Brown
Kenny Irons

I think he's done a pretty good job.

Coached Auburn special teams in 2006 that finished first in the SEC in kickoff coverage, field goal pct., PAT pct., and punting ... Under Gran's direction, Kody Bliss finished third nationally in punting average in 2006, while the team was fourth nationally in the category

That may be more crucial than being the RB coach.

Thats interesting. Maybe bring him in as a special teams coach. We could certianly use a good special teams coach.

Word is that Darren Perry of the Raiders will be the new secondary coach. Also James Lofton is a strong candidate for receivers coach.

I can't see james lofton leaving the nfl, but perry is being reported by brent hubbs.

So I guess so far the staff looks like:

HC: Kiffin
OC: ?
QB: Reaves (recruiting coordinator?)
RB: Gran
OL: Cregg
TE:?
WR?

DC: Monte Kiffin
DL:?
LB:?
DB: Perry (official yet?)

Is this right? 5 more spots to fill. Hopefully they can get Kelly Skipper to be OC and TE coach. I like what he's done with Zach Miller in Oakland.

And hopefully we can bring in Ed O to be the DL coach and a guy like Lloyd Lee as LB coach. Both those guys are proven coaches. I also like what Perry has done with Oakland's DBs.
