Potential Coaching Staff Members (list)

I noticed Cregg isn't listed on the Raiders website anymore. I figured he'd finish out the season but apparently he's already gone and with the Vols. Being the assistant Oline coach, I can't imagine he's not going to be the Oline coach. Who knows though.

Nah,
He left 2 wks. before that great season Oakland had putting together was over. And then got blasted by the HC for it, he even called Lane out on it.
I doubt he was in Oakland the day after he resigned.:cray:

Gran, who recruited the Miami and south Florida area for Auburn, was also Tuberville's special teams coach.

Would be great to have him on board.

Yeah, Gran would be the ST coach. That probably would mean no Schneider, but Gran is highly regarded in that area and he has had obvious success with RBs.

Why? You're only alotted a certain amount of coaches and you have to double up somewhere. You can't have a coach for every position group, 3 coordinators, and a HC. Gran would fit RB/ST coach great.

it would be nice to have someone devote more time to one problematic area on our team instead of splitting time between two.

All this talk was just a formality, I think they were gone from the word go. And to be honest, if they could find a job, they would have taken it anyway.

Adkins went to Washington and Scott to Va(.i belive), and i think they said Green was gone too whoever that is.i know they said 3 were gone, not sure about the last name

Green? I'm starting to be ok with scott leaving, but I think you may see drayton stay.

i got this off Mr SEC,no Green :) and it was Syracuse

Sources have told our Jimmy Hyams that former Tennessee assistant coaches Greg Atkins, Latrell Scott and Jason Michael are leaving the Tennessee staff.

Those three, plus Stan Drayton, have all been recruiting for Tennessee and interviewing with new coach Lane Kiffin over the past three weeks.

According to reports, Atkins has taken the offensive line coaching job with Syracuse and Latrell Scott has taken a receivers coach position at Virginia.

Jason Michael, UT’s tight ends coach last year, was not invited to take part in a Tennessee recruiting meeting this morning. If true, that’s a pretty good indication that Mr. Michael won’t be back in Knoxville.

I'd rather this:

UT Football Staff
Head Coach: Lane Kiffin

Coordinators
Offensive Coordinator: Billy Gonzales
Defensive Coordinator: Monte Kiffin
Special Team Coordinator: Brian Schneider
Recruiting Coordinator: Ed Orgeron

Offense
Quarterbacks: David Reaves
Running Backs: Tom Rathman
Wide Receivers: Billy Gonzales
Tight Ends: Brian Schneider
Offensive Line: James Cregg

Defense
Defensive Line: Ed Orgeron
Linebackers: Lloyd Lee
Secondary: Joe Whitt Jr.

I'm thinking you've got 7 of 9 pieces figured out. My guess now is that he gets Kelly Skipper for RB's and Darren Perry for DB's. I think he plans to repay Al Davis for the payless sendoff by stealing away 4 ass. coaches that were with him in Oakland and then showing Al that he can win Championships when he gets to pick his own players.

Concerning his ability to get Billy Gonzales away from Florida, even with a possible OC title looming, maybe thats where Schneider and Cregg play a secondary role. Schneider and Gonzales were teammates at C.S. for three yrs. and schneider was a GA while Cregg played there a couple years later.

I highly doubt we will have coach taking two positions (ie OL/TE or WR/TE) or either Kiffin coaching a position, so there's no way we hire a ST specific coach.

HC-1
OC/WR-2
QB-3
RB/STs-4
OL-5
TE-6
DC-7
DL-8
LB-9
DB-10

It all depends on who they name OC. I honestly don't think he stays at UF if he isn't named. He'll either come to UT or go to MSU with Mullen. If we don't get him, I'm not sure who else we may try to lure in with the OC title. Kiffin may just keep the title if he can't bring in a good name for it.
