who are the OC rumblings shifting to?
If we get Nix, that's going to suck. I don't know if he's a good position coach or anything, but I know every single Miami fan that I've talked to absolutely hates him. They couldn't wait for him to get fired.
Plus, that 2 minute drill a couple nights ago was just painful to watch.
Callahan will be new OC. He is currently unemployed following Mangini firing. He has a great offensive mind. He had Nebraska's offense moving without his players. They did not give him the time to turn that program around. If he had a Defensive Coordinator, he may still be coaching the Huskers. With Monte here, no worries.

He would be Plan B at best with Gonzales still a possibility.
Gonzales is still my favorite, and pretty good chance he is CLK's favorite too.
With that said, if Gonzo isn't available, I wouldn't mind seeing Callahan as a coordinator. As long as his contract stipulates he could NEVER be the HC here.
Hyams is reporting that Larry Slade will go to Louisville to coach the secondary. Guess that leaves Brooks or Caldwell to go to LSU with Chavis. Which likely means no room at LSU for Orgeron IMO.
Recruiting, recruiting, recruiting. Especially the Florida area.

Number one,, Gonzales was passed over by Urban,, so why do we promote him when his own friend won't....
Secondly, maybe we are after him for the same spot he is coaching at Florida and he gets a chance to learn under Callahan and other NFLers. Just a thought,,, but I don't see him at OC
This could be the guy. Here is what Hubbs said when asked a question about Chaney...There are rumors that Jim Chaney has already interviewed and is a serious candidate. He is currently Tight Ends coach with the St. Louis Rams and is former OC with Purdue.

I think everyone needs to get to know him. He was at Purdue with Joe Tiller and has been with the Rams.
