Potential Coaching Staff Members (list)

I know Bama has the highest paid position coaches in the nation at around 350k I think I read. That's downright ridiculous, but you have to think, if true that means some very influential people in Knoxville are as tired of our mediocre football team as we are.

Saban, Miles, Richt, Meyer, etc all make significantly more than Lane.... Therefore, I don't think it is inconceivable for UT to offer this kind of dough to top assistants. I believe this was Lane's selling point to MH and they are just following through. I don't believe this would be the case if we had 3+million in Butch Davis, Gruden, etc.

Hyams said Coach O was offered the job with a salary of $650,000. That would be ridiculous.

Of course Hyams is an idiot and I don't believe a thing he says. Just throwing it out there.

I'd believe that salary after Monte Retires in a few years but not before unless Hamilton has really opened the vault door. Hyams is an idiot!

We want O bad...that kind of cash doesn't surprise me, nor bother me.

I just think thet Orgeron, knowing Kiffin as he does, would be more than willing to accept 400K, for now. He will be guaranteed the big bucks, by Lane, after Monte retires, which will be after our next Nationial Championship in 3-4 years.

Can we play first?

What about the rumor that now monte wants more money? Is that legit?

I don't put any stock in it. He's already announced he was coming. He has no chip to bargain with. I think that may have been misconstrued somewhat because there is a rumor with legs that Lane is asking for 500K more than was originally given to him to get the staff he wants.

I didn't believe that he was trying to hold us hostage because you have to believe that was all worked out before he resigned from tampa.

Orgeron is asking $650K so maybe that $500K is going towards that.

If Orgeron is "asking" $650K, then I'm disappointed and questioning his motives. He hasn't ever made that much except at OL' Miss. He also knows that the really big bucks are just a few years away.

I thought his motive was to be a part of a new NCAA
football powerhouse and a part of a coaching dream team. This just looks like Mo Money, Mo Money, Mo Money. I've wanted Orgeron since the first mention of his name but if he's going to be that selfish, then let him find someone else to pay that amount.

Already started on a new thread, Bucs LB Coach Casey Bradley has been entered into the mix.

Linebacker rumor sounds solid in light of the Lions firing their staff,,, that way Marinelli and his son in law can come back to Tampa and coach DL and LB's like before.
This would be a big win for Tampa since they lost Monte.
Or, maybe Marinelli comes to Knoxville,, he was awesome with a capital 'A' at DL for Tampa. I would put him above coach O as a coach even if his tema sucked in Detroit.

Also, since the Jets are now firing their staff, hows that Callahan rumor looking?

OC is the weird hire for us since Lane is calling the plays. I think Gonzalez is his target, Lane is looking to mold a guy I think. If not you would hear more about someone coming in that would call their own plays.

Lane has not declared that he must call the plays.... He stated that he intended to call the plays unless he found someone he was really confident with... Only Lane knows his criteria but he has left a crack in the door with this possibility.

I don't think he hires a "play calling" OC.
He has a DC that will have total control over the D.
That leaves the ST, and the O. Having Monte gives him the ability to focus on the O. It seems like he is comfortable training an OC, than hiring one.

He may prove me wrong, he can get away with not hiring a OC per say.

Im not disagreeing with you.... I was just referring to Lane's statement concerning this exact subject during his initial press conference. I too believe he runs the show concerning offense....

With the $ floating around to the other staff members, Im not sure he will hire a OC by itself?

Your right, that is what he said.

Did somebody fart?
:lolabove:

That was great.

well he should have known it was coming the last minute and a half was abysmal, the look on shannon's face was :realmad:so not only was something said after the game it carried over to(i'm the coach and your not ) bye bye

Casey Bradley was added but if anyone could post a more recent bio, I would appreciate it. The one I found was from a while ago.
