Bowl Game: Chik-fil-A Bowl vs Miami (FL)
UT 27 - 24 Miami (FL)

Depending on how many people participate, I will keep track of this, and using a weighted algorithm that accounts predicted vs actual wins/losses and point spreads, I'll buy two (decent+) Vols tickets for the winner for the 2014-2015 season. The Bowl game is just for s'n'g.

Havent been this excited in a few yrs.

Starters pulled early, work on PT for OL/DL depth players who will be starters next year.

9/7 - Western Kentucky
WKU 17 - 27 UT
Same as with AP. OL/DL depth players need as much playing time as they can get. We'll lose a lot of OL/DL next year.

9/14 - @ Oregon
UT 13 - 45 Oregon

9/21 - @ Florida
UT 17 - 14 UF
Going bold here. We won't move the ball well against them, they won't against us. Both offenses will be dealing with different problems. It's a long, grinder type game reminiscent of the non-Dooley years.

9/28 - South Alabama
SA 7 - 38 UT

10/5 - Georgia
UGA 33 - 17 UT
We can't realistically compete with UGA this year. Murray will have his way. We can't stop their running game either.

10/12 - Bye

10/19 - South Carolina
USC 31 - 20 UT
Same as with UGA. USC just has too many ways to compete against us. If I was more confident of our QB/WR situation I'd be more optimistic. By this point, it's difficult to predict anything as they can just load the box and swarm our running game with brute force and a very good DL.

10/26 - @ Alabama
UT 13 - 35 UA
Standard Bama game.

11/2 - @ Missouri
UT 28 - 17 Mizzou

11/9 - Auburn
AU 21 - 14 UT
I see this as a major trap game. October was brutal and we have no idea how well Auburn will be taking to Malzahns offense and how well UT is doing with it's QB/WR quagmire. With things as they are now, I can see Auburn getting us. They have a lot of talent and most of that talent was recruited to run the Offense in place now.

11/16 - Bye

11/23 - Vanderbilt
Vandy 21 - 28 UT
Go back to Nashville.

11/30 - @ Kentucky
UT 38 - 20 UK

7-5 finish with a bowl game... probably Music City. Kiffin took a much less talented squad to 7-5 in the regular season. Though, to be fair, USC/UGA were far less competitive then than they are now. I see this being rational if not a bit optimistic.

Do you know how rare it is for USCe to score over 40 points vs a BCS school not named Kentucky and without OT over Spurrier's tenure there? They are unlikely to be better on O this year than last. UT is very likely to be much better on D. If USCe scores 42 pts on UT... the rest of the season will be worse than you project.

Your predictions show UT allowing 25.75 ppg. That is a 6-6 finish at best IMO. Move that to about 22-23 and it improves to about 7 or 8. Get to 20 ppg or less... nine wins are possible.

Open stronger than expected and go into the UGA game at 4-1. Struggle in the middle of the schedule and arrive at Mizzou at 4-4 due to injuries and young backups... then win the last 3 or 4.

Avg scoring 29-32 ppg and allowing right around 22.5 ppg.

:lolabove::eek:lol::lolabove::eek:lol:

Not so much your 4-8 prediction which I think is pretty much a delusion on your part fueled by being more impressed with Vandy's "great" year last year that was the direct result of playing an exceptionally weak schedule.... But it is that last little patronizing jab.

Take a look at UT's roster. If Jones and staff cannot get more than 4 wins out of this roster vs this schedule then there is no way in this realm of reality they're sniffing a bowl with the youth and thin roster they'll have next fall. If the season started today, the starting O would be comprised of Jr's and Sr's with talent everywhere except WR... where underclassmen would have beaten out upper classmen.

The D front 7 would be comprised of 5 Srs with talent and two Jrs with the potential to go pro early. Safety and one CB will have 4 excellent guys with a ton of experience and talent.

If Jones and company cannot coach over the difficulty at CB and WR experience wise... then they ARE NOT going to coach over a lack of experience EVERYWHERE next year.

It's not crack, but fear.

Here's the deal, if you have 2 quarterbacks then you have zero QB. If somebody hasn't stepped forward at this point, then nobody's play is exceptional. At this point in time 13 of the 14 SEC teams have a starter at the most important position on the field. UT doesn't.

I would love to change my prediction if / when we name a starter and have somebody solid back there under center. If by some miracle, Dobbs is that guy after the Western Kentucky game, then perhaps we go 7-5 (yes I think the QB position is worth 2 SEC wins).

so my prediction is a "state of the program" on August 6th, 25 days before kickoff. I hope to be able to change it after 1 week of the season, but without a solid QB starter, 5-7 is all i can get.
