Stokes is sill committed to UT...

Are you sure he is locked in?

you have a good point here, but if you listen to them talk, teague is more optomistic about florida than stokes is for tennessee. stokes seems like he is looking for a reason to head out. mainly his little brother.

I think we are closer to teague then you think, JMO. I think he wants to keep it interesting til NSD. And my bad for misunderstanding the Browns ha

Optimism abounds!

it's reality. we are not getting what we need. we needed o and d line help and it is not looking good. like i said kiffin got in late and just seems like he can't close some of the higher rated kids. i'm also more than alittle confused as are alot of people about boyd. i've given the man a break so far, but watching what the other teams in the sec are doing as for as recruiting, i think we are in alittle trouble if he doesn't get some gamebreakers. remember something kiffin was my pick as coach, his energy just doesn't seem to be paying off right now.

these kids have been recruited for at least a year or two, Kiffin has had 2 months. This is not his fault.

"i've given the man a break so far,"

Well please don't fire him yet. :cray:

He's actually a 4 star. I didn't know Teague moved up to 4 star either. This list would be amazing though.

Prediction: If this class is not in the top 12 or 15 at the very worst, CLK will leave or be fired without winning a championship.

You honestly think his chances at staying as head coach and winning a championship hinge on a recruiting class that he will have had two months to put together? That's insane.

Now, if next year or the year after his classes aren't in the top 5 or 10, he will have something to worry about. But give the guy at least a full year to recruit, if not the full 4 years it would take to build a team of his players, before jumping ship.

His energy is paying off. Are you paying attention? He's getting recruits that didn't even have UT on their radar to at least visit. Remember, Kiffin has only been recruiting these kids for a month & 1/2. Other teams have been recruiting them for 2 years. Big difference.

Who has he gotten that wasn't on the radar?

I hope he does turn some guys by NSD. But so far he's getting visits from those guys but not commitments. They're visiting then choosing to go elsewhere or else staying with a previous commitment.

Holy knee jerks batman! You dont even know what the class will end up as. I think this wait till the last minute stuff will be a bigger and bigger trend every year, kids love to squeeze as much courtin' as they can out of the big schools. Even if the class is not that good you cannot put it on a coach that came on in this late in the process. Give me a break. Thats like blaming Romulus Augustus for the fall of the Roman Empire.

Gordon, Green and Jeffry were not even seriously considering us before Kiffin. Two 4* and a 3* is pretty damn good so far for an unproven coach with so little time.

No. It is realism.

Let's say they bone this one and sign a class with 25 to 27 players that ranks 20+. That would be worse than CPF's small class last year that ranked 35th. Those two classes together would put even more pressure on getting the best out of the 07 class... which has several guys who have not matched their accolades... and will lose Eric Berry after this coming season to the NFL.

So what you will have is a team dominated by Fr and Sophs in 10/11 trying to compete with UF, UGA, LSU, Bama, and several other resurgent programs.

You may not think it is fair... and it probably isn't... but it is very much the terrain on which CLK finds his forces deployed.

I'm not jumping ship. I am definitely hoping for the best but his window is extremely, extremely narrow.

Think about it. After this season, they'll lose Richard, Hardesty, Cottam, McClendon, McNeil, Scott, McCoy, Berry, Brown, D Williams, G Williams (?), and Morley. If this class is poor then they'll have very little to fill in with.

This class is absolutely critical.

First of all, Green and Gordon would not be Vols if not for Kiffin. We have gotten visits from Montgomery, Jeffery, and now we are getting visits from Kendall Kelly, Patterson, Patrick, and we got Bryce Brown thinking about us. You think Fulmer would have gotten that? Montgomery said Fulmer and staff never really recruited him all that hard. He is one of the top DE's in the country! You gotta be kidding me.

Gordon was considering UT though I will give them credit for reeling him in. Green is probably on par with Stokes who they probably lose. Jeffrey is a much bigger gamble than the JUCO kid they lost to UF.

You may be impressed but I'm warning you that this simply isn't enough... especially if they lose Thigpen, Phillips, Stokes, and Oku.

He's only had a month & 1/2 to recruit. Remember it's not his fault. Fulmer put us in this position. Now Kiffin is trying to turn it around. It's not gonna happen overnight.

Kiffin should not take the blame for this class...

what he has done in 2 short months is going to be nothing short of incredible come NSD. just wait and see.

Teague and Myles were both off our radar with CPF and now look like probable signees
