Happy for Lampard. Gets another shot in the EPL. From a development standpoint I thought he did great at Chelsea, but ultimately it was the tactics that did him in. Maybe a second chance will do him well.

Sure as hell hope so because I can't handle another manager search for Everton. It's starting to feel like UT sports

He’s getting thrown right into the deep end. Our next three league games are Newcastle, Leeds and Southampton. A couple wins from those, and relegation is probably off the table. Get nothing from those games, and we’re deep in the fight for survival, and the run in during April-May is BRUTAL.

The entire Everton traveling support singing “Digne was right, Rafa’s shite” for long stretches of yesterday’s match seems to back up those rumors.

He may or may not end up being a good signing for Villa. If the Lucas Digne of two years ago shows up, then it’s a brilliant move. If Digne of last year, and especially this season shows up, then Matt Targett may still be best option at LB for them.

Looks like Villa is shipping off Targett to Newcastle on loan.

I guess we’ll see which Digne shows up now that’s he’s the only real player we have at LB.

Can’t wait to watch All Or Nothing: Arsenal in August. Arsenal wanted Aubameyango to leave and get rid of his wages so bad they let him go on free transfer today. Still had 18 months left on his contract. His wages were 350k/week and apparently Barcawrre refusing to pay all of it if it were a loan deal, so Arsenal said fine, we will take nothing to just to get him out and off the books. Crazy.

As expected, Newcastle went big this transfer window. Spent nearly 100M quid. Going to be hilarious if they still go down.

I was surprised at Everton getting so many guys in. Not sure what to think about Dele Alli. Hopefully a fresh start somewhere else will help him. It wasn’t that long ago that he was viewed as a world class up and comer.

As an Arsenal fan I despised Dele Alli more than any other Spur, but lately he has been unexceptional and seemed disinterested.

I remember how Auba left Dortmund.

The 28-year-old was dropped twice this season due to disciplinary reasons while fans unveiled a banner during the player's final Dortmund game that read: “No player is bigger than our club.”

He basically left Arsenal the same way.

So Arsenal learned from UT, pay people to leave.
Not quite the same, because unlike UT every time we fire a coach, they aren't paying the full value of the contract. Sure, they paid him £7M to leave, but he was on £350k a week with nearly 18 months remaining on the contract, so they are actually saving themselves £25M+ between now and the end of next season. Given the situation, that seems like money pretty well spent to me.

Another day, another VAR disasterclass. I know the rules have changed such that handling the ball unintentionally doesn’t necessarily constitute a handball, but Middlesbrough’s player gained a clear advantage by doing so.

All that said, glad to see Man U exit the FA Cup.

Most of the time I’m fine with letting the play go on with an unintentional handball like that, but in the box? Hard pill to swallow for anyone opposed in that situation. It’s actually an almost identical no call, minus the location on the pitch, as Leicester in the FA cup final last year against Chelsea. Ball deflects off a players knee and hits his arm.. play continues. Tough.

Lampard quietly assembling a coaching lineup at Everton that could beat the first team, lol. It’s now him, Duncan Ferguson, Ashley Cole and Leighton Baines on staff.

Edwards was another solid grab by Lampard from Chelsea. Has a great track record with developing younger players. Was in charge of the developmental squad and and was promoted to first team assistant coach under Lampard. Chelsea will miss him and Cole.

Great efforts by both. Plymouth was fearless at Stamford Bridge today, all the credit to them. Was really impressed with their composure.

I’m a Kidderminster fan now, adding them to my Euro soccer trip I hope I get to do next year. First, two minutes away from victory in regulation, then 30 seconds and one clearance away from PKs.
