Premiere League & World Soccer Thread

VAR putting in the hard miles for Liverpool this afternoon. Borderline penalty waived off in the first half, and then the keeper commits two borderline red card offenses SIMULTANEOUSLY only to have both overlooked.

And of course they take the lead as I type this.

Yeah, that certainly could have been a red, but like you said, Liverpool.

Alternatively, who are everyone’s most hated rivals?

For the Everton and Arsenal fans the answer will be self-evident, but I’m particularly curious about where the Chelsea and Villa fans stand since none of their closest geographical derbies are being played on a regular basis right now, and when they are, they aren’t very competitive.

Arsenal and Spurs are the two main rivals in Chelsea fans eyes. In particular, Spurs games have a history of just getting heated. Both owners essentially refuse to do business with each other, even if it did make sense for both squads. You will also always hear a chant aimed at Man United at Chelsea home games. It’s a fan favorite in the Chelsea forums.

Not to be upstaged by the West Midlands Derby we were just discussing in here earlier, the East Midlands Derby has entered the chat…

The amount of fan misbehavior and violence since everyone has been allowed back is actually becoming a bit concerning. Seems like something like this is happening most weeks lately.

For me, the most hated are….
1) Spurs
2) United
3) Tie: Chelsea & Liverpool
5) City

wtf

Seems like Salah should shoulder a bit of the blame for losing the shootout. He always likes to go 5th, presumably to score the winning PK, but the shootout never made it that far. A couple of Egypt’s penalties were absolutely awful. Slotting your best penalty taker anywhere later than third is dumb, because beyond that there’s no guarantee he even takes one.

Regardless who you support, this guy is just so easy to root for. 2014 he was unemployed and thought about giving up football. 8 years later he’s got a full trophy case for club and country.

Just saw that Reyna came off the bench Sunday, good to see him back. I stopped watching before he came on since it was such a blowout.
