Premiere League & World Soccer Thread

Truly a shocking mistake by Dave to give away the goal.

In spite of not making a lot of chances from all that possession, it still might have been enough if Pickford hadn’t played the game of his life. That entire sequence where Mount’s shot ricocheted off both posts, followed by Pickford diving across stop the rebound and then nearly getting decapitated saving the shot off the ensuing corner was unreal.

Yeah, Pickford was outstanding and that stop on the line was world class. He was even laying his face on the line for that win 😂

Announced that Manchester City vs Bayern Munich will play in a friendly at Lambeau field this July.
Maybe the NFL should call their preseason games Friendlies and play them over seas, they would all be sellouts and help attract attention for the league.

Leicester, Watford, Brentford, Crystal Palace, and Arsenal for Everton, while Burnley has Villa twice, Spurs, and Newcastle, and Leeds has Arsenal, Chelsea, Brighton and Brentford.

On face value, that shapes up nice for Everton to get the points they need. I’d say Leeds probably has the toughest schedule remaining in the relegation fight.

Is there a way to watch the last day of games for League 1 & League 2, kind of like wrap around coverage?
League 1 is already done with their regular season. IIRC ESPN+ will have the all of the playoffs for the lower leagues. Not sure what they've got for the final day of The Championship.

Everton now have the worst behind them. I'd feel a little better if our away for hadn't been so unbelievably dreadful all year. However, Leicester will have been in Rome 72 hours prior to this weekend's match, so they will probably field either a tired, or heavily rotated team, and Watford haven't won at home this calendar year. If the Goodison crowds continue to be anything like this past weekend, no reason to think we can't take some points off Brentford and Palace, who will have nothing to play for at that point. Just need to avoid heading down to The Emirates needing a result on the final day against Arsenal who may also have a Champions League spot on the line.

Top 4 race update:

HUGE game for the Spurs this weekend against Liverpool at Anfield. A loss wouldn’t put them out of the top 4 picture, even if Arsenal and Chelsea win, but it would make it much, much harder. A loss to Liverpool and then Arsenal the following Thursday would make it extremely low chances of top 4.

Some scenarios:

Chelsea and Arsenal both win this weekend, and Spurs lose to Liverpool and then lose to Arsenal next Thursday… Chelsea and Arsenal both secure top 4.

If Spurs lose next two games but Chelsea or Arsenal don’t win this weekend, then there’s still a chance for Spurs but Chelsea would only need 1 point over the last 3 games and Arsenal would only need 2 points over last 2 games.

If Spurs win either at Liverpool or at home against Arsenal.. then this race remains wide open. Next two weeks will be tense!

My hope scenario.

Spurs win out.

I could see them only needing a result against Norwich and not getting it.

Took another single game parlay, Benzena to score 2+ goals, De Bruyne to score 1+ and over 3.5 goals total for both teams

Lolololololol…

Manchester City, LOL.

I’d put my money on Liverpool to beat Real Madrid and win the final, but this Real Madrid team is scrappy. Don’t count them out.
