Well, I had my best week gambling in a long time and I didn't make one soccer bet. I wonder if that's a sign that maybe I don't need to bet on the EPL ?

Soccer is hard, I read somewhere that people who win at soccer pay for monthly subscriptions that are rather expensive to study every detail and stat.

Yeah, I believe it. My main problem is that I usually just make player prop bets. Like anytime scorer, even a guy to score 2 goals or a guy to score and give an assist. The odds go way up, but obviously there is a reason for that. You know when Haaland got that second hat trick in the EPL, he was only +450 to score 3 goals, crazy. He did, tho and I almost took it, but changed my mind because those odds for a hat trick were crazy low. You usually get over double those odds for somebody like Mitrovic to score only 2 goals.

So Graham Potter got an extended look at the team this weekend, will play CL game on Wednesday for his first game in charge, and then will get more practice time before the international break. Lots of time to examine his squad at least.

It was announced that Arsenal’s midweek Europa league match got postponed because of traffic concerns with everything else going on in London due to the Queen’s events.

Wonder why that got delayed and Chelsea’s didn’t? I wonder if the Arsenal game being a day later made it harder for police in London. They are going to have their hands full with the crowd in London. Also not familiar with where Buckingham Palace is in London and maybe it’s closer to North London then West London.

He will get plenty of time with Chelsea ownership, they signed him to a 5 year deal. It’s a long term vision for them.

Fans will be a different story unfortunately. Following Tuchel and the quick turn around he did will be tough. There’s lots of irrational fans at every team but following a manager that most fans loved brings out more than usual.

I love watching Mitrovic play. I honestly would rather watch him work than I would Haaland.

Agree, but that goal where Haaland receives the pass in the box, with a man draped all over him and he dribbles up and scores while keeping the defender on his hip, then forearms him off of him when he shoots was a next level, bully goal. I think that was his 3rd goal on his first EPL hat trick.

Mitro is just relentless. If he had Haaland's size (yeah, I know Mitro and Haaland weigh about the same, but Haaland still has 2 inches on him) and speed, he would be unstoppable with that motor/will to win, he has

It’s a strange decision. Stamford Bridge is quite a bit closer to all the goings-on surrounding the Queen’s funeral. Yeah I’d love to hear why on that decision. I haven’t checked in on Twitter but I’m sure that info is out there. I’m actually happy with the PL decisions. Potter gets time to get Chelsea some practice but at the same time we still get to watch some games this weekend. Win-Win.

It’ll come back eventually though. That’s two games Chelsea will have to add to an already congested schedule. Liverpool in the same boat too.

I know most of you all are strictly EPL, but there are some other great matches this weekend around some of the other leagues while the EPL is a little light on the schedule. Serie A has both Roma/Atalanta and Napoli/Milan on Sunday, all are top 6 in the standings in Serie A. Quite a few other Champions League teams have some big matches also.

I prefer to watch Mitrovic on the ball. Yes, Haaland will score more, but I enjoy seeing Mitrovic on the ball. Haaland is a rocket on through balls. But Mitrovic has an incredible work rate.

But there is a catch….

1) Only players that have played for the team you support. (If you have more than one team, just pick one)
2) They have to be players that have been active since you started watching. (For example, I can’t pick Henry from Arsenal)

I will have to think on this one. For sure a thought process for some of those that support smaller clubs.

I’ve been watching Arsenal since 2016/17, that was the first year they didn’t qualify for Champions League or finished above Spurs. A streak that lasted for something like 20 years I believe. Arsenal haven’t made it back to the Champions League or finished above Spurs since, which is unheard of. Anyways I looked back at all the players we have had, and we have had a lot of great players, I wouldn’t replace any of them with our current 11.

Some of our best players have been Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Aubameyang. But all left a bad taste when they left and wouldn’t want them in my all time XI.

One player I really liked was Matteo Guendouzi, but he ended up being a loose cannon(No pun intended)

I was excited when we got the Brazilian David Luis from Chelsea but he was already past his prime when he played for us.

Carzola got injured early in the first season I started watching so I didn’t see enough on him, I’d imagine he may have been on my list instead of Xhaka but I don’t know.

So here is my 11, all on the current squad.

Lewandawski return. That’s just part of it for that match up though. You also have the last time these two teams played in CL Bayern roasted Barcelona to a tune of 7-2. Lewa was obviously a part of the 7 goals but it was very embarrassing for Barcelona. Personally, I’d love to see history repeat itself

The way Barcelona did business really irked me this summer. Partly because Chelsea and Barca went head to head for a couple transfers but mainly just because of the way they did business. Forcing all of their experienced players to take pay cuts, threatening them with lawsuits (Braithwait, De Jong) if they didn’t take pay cuts, selling off parts of their businesses to stay afloat.. all whole spending almost 200M on new players and paying wages higher than the current players because of their pay cuts. It was just ridiculous. If any other club besides Barcelona did this they would have been shamed and torn apart by the media.. but not Barcelona.
